IKEA Restaurant Canberra – Honest but Not Halal/Kosher-Friendly
The IKEA Restaurant in Canberra offers a pleasant dining experience with its affordable, casual Swedish-inspired menu. However, it’s important to note that the restaurant is not halal or kosher-certified, and pork is used extensively—even in tools and preparation areas shared with other meats. Staff are transparent about this, which is appreciated, but it makes the restaurant unsuitable for those adhering to halal or kosher dietary restrictions.

Read moreI love Swedish food and this is restaurant is always clean, usually with tables available. Tables include sofas & armchairs with coffee tables, or dining tables. There’s a speciality coffee and cake section, or the regular cafeteria area. Grab a tray, or a special trolley for your multiple trays if you prefer. Spacious area with an entire wall of windows. There’s an area to heat baby food/ bottles and an area that’s easier to supervise small children. Toilets are around the corner, and the children’s playground, Småland, not much further away. Read moreRestaurant is not what it used to be. Food is still tasty but staff are serving you with a dish that is not like the picture they advertise at all. The quantity of the food the last two times we were there was much less and once the garnish was totally missing from plates. Check your receipt as well because you might end up paying for stuff not in your tray! We paid for one extra dessert and two cream that we didn't pick! Very disappointed because we like Ikea and if staffs keep continuing bad service more people will stop going to Ikea, sales will reduce and eventually Ikea might be closed in Canberra, don't u think? After all, there are lots of online shops. We go to actual places for their good customer service if there is not a good customer service then what...
