Chalisa Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in District of Tuggeranong

Ordered take away last week..the food was very bad!!! The time when we actually went there for dine in was good that was the only reason we chose this place for take away on that night after a very hectic day..anyways..we ordered naan, the naan was burnt and was fairly smaller in size than their usual sizes..the paneer makhani seemed like it was cooked in tomato puree..the size of the paneer was half than what the “standard panner cubes" usually are..and last the chicken korma had barely 5 pieces in there when the curry price was about $18!!!.it felt like the whole portion size was that of the indian food court where you get the tiny curry box for $5 deal or little higher. Additionally, we requested the curries to be “hot” and we could actually see the chilli powder floating at the top, so they basically just sprinkled the chilli powder on top of the already cooked curries and packed them up..Thanks Chalisa but we could have done them ourselves at home after getting the regular mild curry if thats how you prepare the hot curries. Definetely a very bad experience..won't be ordering from them...

Started off strong, but ultimately I was disappointed at the end.

Good: Online ordering with Paypal, fast turnaround, friendly service, impressive restaurant ambiance, lovely oversized papadums.

Bad: The food!

Such a shame! Everything about the place screams success... chomping into the papadums and really looking forward to the entree and main. Chicken tikka is bland, tastes like normal chicken (like it hasn't been marinated at all, but 'looks' like its been marinated). The lamb rogan josh is also bland. I asked for medium heat/spice, and got it. But take the heat away and there was no flavour to the meat at all. And too many fatty/grizzle bits. Even the rice didn't taste right... like a plastic taste (either its been sitting in the plastic container too long, or stored in a larger plastic tub... but the plastic taste is definitely there).

I really wanted this to be a positive review, and the start was SOOOOOO good. But the food taste is where it counts, and regardless of how good it is in every other area, bland food wont have me back there any time soon....

Food is always delicious, but inconsistent portions and poor delivery service are a significant problem considering prices.

I've been eating here on and off for years. After several problems with delivery on different occasions, and even a problem with calling ahead for pick up, I only recommend dining in.

The final straw for leaving a negative review was ordering food online at 5:20 for delivery by 6:30. By 6:50 I attempted to call the restaurant several times with no answer. Left a message, no call back. Drove there myself to see what was going on. At 7:10, my food was sitting on the counter in a menulog delivery bag with multiple other orders.

If a driver had immediately collected that bag and I was lucky enough to have my food delivered first, it would have been an hour late. If delivered last, could have been two hours late.

When we opened the food, there was around half the meat we were expecting based on an identical order last week.

Late deliveries, nobody answering phones, and shafted on portion size. Not ordering...
