China Tea House — Restaurant in District of Tuggeranong

This has become my all time favorite Chinese Restaurant due to some amazing and well priced dishes. In fact although the dishes have high quality ingredients they are amazingly cheap compared to most other restaurants. For an entrée try the Deep-Fried Cuttlefish Dumplings. A light delicate flavour and something I have never found anywhere else. Try it as a main course as Cuttlefish Dumplings with Creamy Crab-Meat Sauce which has lots of succulent broccoli. Unique seafood with great veggies. Perfect. Another favorite entrée is Steamed N.Z. Mussels with Garlic and Chilli. The biggest and tastiest mussels I have ever tasted. My wife's favorite mains is Chicken Fillets with Chilli Basil & a Touch of Citrus Sauce. Tender chicken with a delicate flavour. Very nice. But the best dish for me is Pepper Sauce Beef Steak & Scallops Hot Pot. I have this every time I am in Canberra for lunch and dinner. Tender beef pieces with tasty scallops and lots of English broccoli in a pepper sauce giving just enough bite. Fantastic. My favorite beef dish anywhere outside of my wife's beef olives. Never order uber eats from this restaurant, they’re too cheap to actually use uber drivers and use their own delivery guys. My food did not arrive on time, (ordered at 6.30pm expected delivery 7.10-7.20) had to call the restaurant at 7.35pm to get an update and they said they were only just cooking my food now. It would be another 40min to an hour before it was delivered. Expected before 8.30pm delivered. I offered to collect from the store to save time and they said it would be ready in 10-15 min. I Went to the store to pick up at 7.50 and had to wait another 15 min in store, finally collected it at 8.05pm (I live 5 min away). I calmly complained and said I hope you’re going to give me some free prawn crackers for wasting my time. The owner came over and said it was my fault I used uber eats and that they allowed an extra 30min over the scheduled delivery time. I mentioned that I ordered at 6.30 and it was now after 8pm. The owner is so cheap he didn’t even give me some free prawn crackers or even an apology. By the way the restaurant was basically empty so couldn’t have been that busy. Update: 4th Nov "24" Once again the China Tea House has produced a delicious meal!!! Mongolian lamb Chicken chow mein Steamed Dim Sims Fried Rice Crispy noodles And everyone's favourite Prawn crackers And the containers sealed with clad wrap is perfect for getting your food home without spilling a drop!!!
