Thai Basil Restaurant — Restaurant in District of Tuggeranong

I have lived in the area for over 25yrs and never thought of this place, Friday night and I wanted Chinese, I called China tea house and it was an hour wait for takeaway - forget that so then I thought Thai! Googled Erindale and Thai basil came up OH WHAT A TREAT very friendly on the phone said 20-25min wait for takeaway I wanted to pick up annd I ordered 2 dishes and rice IT WAS SUPERB! Mouth watering in fact, the parking is the only problem on a Friday night at 7.30 I had to double park and run in, it wasn’t ready so the kind lady behind the Counter said she would bring it out to me and she did, Got it home, had time to feed the dog and get changed and it was still piping hot! brought back so many memories of being in Thailand, I ordered satay beef (delish) a chicken dish I can’t spell but had 2x chili symbol (was very flavoursome and not overpowering) and I loved the rice I got which had chicken in it so much better than jasmine rice, I highly recommend this place I will DEFINATELY BE BACK...

Absolutely terrible! We ordered takeaway, we were given a paper bag, the container lids were not on properly. My daughter was holding the bag on her lap and felt a heat sensation, she looked in the bag and 3 out of the 4 containers were open and the overfilled ones were cascading over burning her legs! We have pictures of this it was terrible! She arrived home in hysterical tears screaming in pain! After inspecting the burns and treating accordingly (being a medical professional) I turned to the food....... disgraceful to say the least. Burnt, no sauce AT ALL! Pad se ew was clear and burnt and undercooked pink chicken in laska both NOT edible! When I called to discuss I was asked my phone number and told they would call back- that never happened and when I called back my call was unanswered. When I called with a different number they answered straight away 😕 told me not their fault and they didn't comment on the...

Always a pleasure to have dinner here. The staff are always on the ball and very friendly. The food is always on the table faster than expected. What I really like about Thai Basil is that when you ask for proper hot, not Aussie but Proper Thai hot, you get just that. Watch out for the little peppers in the crispy sizzling pork.

My favorite meal here is their very simple but always perfect saté sticks for entré. I recommend them to everyone (except of cause all you awesome people out there who are allergic, dont have the saté....just sayin... All their curries are very tasty indeed, the rice is always cooked properly.

I have yet to be disappointed by this very unassuming restaurant. Having tried all Tuggeranong and southside has to offer, including a couple of high award winning places, I am always drawn back to Thai Basil. In my opinion the best Thai...
