Wow.... so we had a table of 11 last night (17 March). 5 of us arrived a little earlier than the rest and explained to staff we had an hour and fifteen because we were going to a concert. We asked for the first 5 of us to order so our food could come out quickly rather than waiting for the entire table to be served. They agreed. We ordered.
Then the rest of our group trickled in and ordered.
The staff had no idea what they were serving. The waitress put my sparkling wine in front of someone else and told her it was cider (cider comes in a can here not a wine glass) We quickly sorted that mess up. Only for the sparkling wine to be flat within 5 minutes of me receiving it...
Someone ordered gluten free antipasto (which is an option on their menu) only to be told if she wanted gluten free bread she would have to order a separate garlic bread and pay full price on that too. Bread is included on the antipasto but apparently not gluten free (once again despite having gluten free option listed on menu).
There were 2 other tables (3 and 4 people). All ordered after the first 5 of us but were served before us.
After a nearly 45 minute wait one person on our table gets her main (no one has received their entrees). The person who got her main was literally the last to order. At this point we're complaining. One person tried to cancel their order but the staff insisted it was on its way. (Insisted this for several minutes and refused to let her cancel because it was "coming out right now").
It arrived 5 minutes later. Gluggy risotto cooked in extremely salty stock. It was inedible. Still no one has entrees.
We question the staff and they said they were serving the other tables first and were going to bring all our food out together. Even though we had a whole conversation about not doing that.
My pizza arrives - it was a seafood pizza drowning in oily cheese.
After 1 hour no one else has their food! We had to ask for take away containers.
Very dissatisfied and disappointed. We had explained our situation and gained confirmation that we would be in and out in time. They did not follow through with what we discussed. They lied about how far off our food was. And the food when finally received was poorly made...
Read moreCalled and ordered two pizzas. Went and picked up and didn’t think to check the pizzas. Got home to find the order was wrong and that they had given us entirely the wrong pizza (ordered ham and pineapple and got pepperoni and olives). Called them and they said they’d make another. We said no thanks unless they’re prepared to deliver which they said they weren’t. Ok fine - we’ll just have a refund please. Was told sorry - manager has to authorise refunds and she just had a baby and won’t be back for a while but they’d be happy to give us a free pizza next time. I told them there won’t be a next time and that I’d follow up tomorrow and see about a refund. They called back a few minutes later and said they’d deliver the pizza which they did - 1 hour and 10 minutes later. It was burnt, stone cold and went directly into the bin. LaPiazza has changed hands and we really should have been tipped off by the fact that the once busy restaurant was empty. We...
Read moreMy partner and I went to dinner there last night anticipating a wonderful meal as previous visits and was sadly disappointed. The steak was cold and the Masala came with beer batter fries and no other vegetables. In our previous visits the Masala came with mashed potato. If we thought the mains were bad it had nothing on my dessert. I ordered Tiramasu and heard a microwave being used. It was not freshly made. The Sticky date pudding was outdone by Sarah Lee and I suspect both were frozen. When the Tiramasu arrived at the table I was so shocked I laughed. It was very pale, tasted cold and soggy and looked like something you would feed a dog. The cost for this experience was $130 and honestly we would have been better going to the pub as the food would have been better. My partner tried to do the right thing and speak to the Manager on the phone about our experience and she was totally rude and dismissive. One thing was good, the small Fomage...
