On Sat 5 March 2022, I went in to have lunch and chose from the Lunchtime menu that had a creamy mushroom fettuccine, and so I ordered it. I checked the description and it was vegetable based as I love mushrooms. It was a great meal with plenty of mushrooms. At the end of the meal when we paid I saw on the receipt that I was charged for a creamy CHICKEN pasta, which I had NOT ordered. There were no noticeable chunks of chicken thar I saw, and my family who are meat eaters didn't notice any when they tasted the dish. So I asked the waitress to make sure there was no chicken in my pasta as I am vegetarian. I was told by the waitress that the pasta I received would be charged at weekend rates, but assured me there was no chicken in it, even though the receipt stated so. I was fine with this. I asked for her to confirm this with the chef.
She didn't do this but instead she went to chat with her colleagues at the counter. I then when up to confirm there was no chicken in the creamy mushroom fettuccine I ordered. This time a different waitress came up and told me there was chicken in the pasta, that is why it is called chicken creamy pasta. I informed her on the menu there is a creamy mushroom fettuccine dish, that is why I ordered it. I am vegetarian why would I order a chicken dish. The waitress then went on in a condescending attitude telling me there was no creamy mushroom fettuccine in the menu, and that I should have checked the description on the menu before I ordered. And furthermore, I should have told her I was vegetarian so there wouldn't be chicken put on my pasta. I countered and asked why should I have to tell you that I am vegetarian and please make sure there is no chicken in my mushroom fettuccine, where the description doesn't have chicken in It?! The chicken was minced finely it seemed.
It was the most appalling service and lack or remorse for their mistake, where the first waitress not only lied about serving me the wrong dish, but also lied that there was no chicken in my dish. Then for the second one to insinuate it was my fault for ordering a chicken dish on the menu when I was vegetarian. Poorly trained staff who DO NOT KNOW their own menu, refuse to own up to their mistakes and blames the customer for it. It is shocking and I will never go back to that place. I did not choose the chicken but was misled into eating the dish then lied to about it which makes it worse. I would give a negative rating if it was possible. Shocking and disgraceful behaviour and service. Either get better trained staff or at least staff who have an ounce of integrity and know...
Read more20/08/23 Went last Sunday for a quick bite, noticed there’s an increase on the overall menu. Kids meal doesn’t include ice cream anymore. We joined the loyalty program to get the 10% off but the final bill was still slightly higher.
Edited review: Put it up by another star as they have check the quality control of the chicken patty of their burgers. But the staff gets flustered when it gets too busy & dessert just takes too long to come out & not easy to wait when you have young children. This time they forgot the ice cream from the kids meal and we could not be bothered waiting for another 10-15 minutes for it. Waffle & ice cream was overly sweet as a combination. Won’t order it again..
Took the kids back last weekend, was a very busy night, servers were run off their feet. Some were pulling more weight than others. Drink was forgotten. Food took longer to arrive as you’d expect. Fried chicken burger patties has shrunk dramatically yet again..
Edited review: Visited a week after our last visit & was disappointed with the taste & portion of the food which had dramatically shrunk. Taste wise it wasn’t as enjoyable as the first visit. The chicken wings were so tiny, it looked smaller than a kid’s meal. Service is still swift & friendly.
Friendly & swift service, food was nice for the price point & kids meal are quite large & value for money as it includes a drink & dessert. Overall, we were quite happy...
Read moreOur first experience with Rashay’s today at Tuggeranong started well.
We were seated and soon after our order of two meals and two drinks were taken. For some reason the waiter was angry when he was taking our order, enough for my daughter to ask me what had we done wrong. Then my daughter and I waited for 40 minutes, and no drinks or food arrived.
There was only two other tables of diners who already had their meals and drinks when we arrived, so the waiting staff and kitchen had no further orders to do but ours.
I went up to the counter to ask what was going on? I was asked what my order was, so I asked if there was even an order on the system, and there wasn’t. I was asked what the person who took the order looked like? I described him, then I felt I’d wasted enough of my time waiting with my very hungry, 14 year old who I had brought to Rashay’s as a treat to cheer her up. The chap who took the complaint was very apologetic and lovely and gave me vouchers for coffees and brownies, but we won’t be ever coming back to use them.
It’s sad as we had been discussing how Rashay’s in tuggeranong is a perfect spot to have a meal and then head to the movies for our family, or for my teenager and her friends to have a meal there. But now she’ll just tell everyone on her social media how “weird” it was, and not...
