Oh, where do I start! If you want: to continually be told to wait in the waiting bay, to never receive your correct order, to receive a triple cheeseburger with only two pieces of meat, your meal to be cold, to not receive serviettes or a tray for your drink, to wait in store for five minutes to get two frozen cokes and only get them because you ask where they are, to be spoken to like you owe them something, to receive a small fries in a large fries container, to be served by twelve year old managers who have no comprehension of customer service; and, if you want to be told by the franchise owner that, 'we'll do better' and them do absolutely nothing, then absolutely waste your money at the Weston McDonalds. Once again I have reached the end of my tether with these miscreants. Ever since this franchisee opened a new McDonalds on Cotter Road the service has fallen even lower than I had previously experienced. It is hard to believe that is even possible but the staff and prep level management have managed to out do themselves. Since the other store has opened you don't get through the drive thru without being parked. You wait and wait and wait, and then you wait a little more until one of the staff decide to grace you with their presence, but not before they wander out taking in the sights all while dangling your meal out in front of them. Then you get home only to find that the burgers have been thrown together like some road kill and the fries, which is apparently what you've been waiting on, are cold and are so rubbery you'd think they were sourced from Goodyear. Fortunately someone in the family will not experience this unique eating experience because NO doubt your order will not be complete.
You decide to treat your kids to a frozen coke after school but when you get to the drive thru it is busy so you decide to park and send them in to get these $1 wonders!! They walk into the store where there is no one waiting to be served and they wait and wait and wait a little longer to order their sweet slushy drink. Then they wait and wait and wait a little more. After five minutes you decide to turn off the car and go into find out why it is taking sssooooo long for someone to put a cup under a drink dispenser and press a button. There is a child there in a different coloured shirt who seems to be running the show, you ask, 'where are the frozen drinks?' She looks at you with a blank stare and you can literally see the cogs working up a sweat, but she doesn't say anything, she just starts slamming things around. By this time there are now four people waiting to be served because they've bypassed the useless self order machines. Who could quite forget the fiasco that was their initial installation. So in total we have one person serving those in store, on serving in drive through, two teenager sloths performing Pro Hart painting techniques throwing burgers together, one handing food out the window and one manager who slams the drinks down on the counter. When you mention to your daughter that you're going to make a complaint, the so called manager tells you, 'have a nice day'.
You know what would be nice Weston Maccas!! For you to employ more staff, to get a manager that actually knows how to manage, instead of only being qualified to pack orders incorrectly, for our burgers to look like burgers instead of a chewed Mintie, for our fries to be hot and full, just like in your incessant commercials and it would be nice that fast food was actually fast food and not some bastardised attempt at a la carte. For $50 for four people at a minimum I want hot food and fast. If I wanted a la carte I'd go to an actual restaurant that knows a little more about service than you apparently do.
I called and made a complaint to head office and was told that franchisee's handle any complaints. When I said that this needs to be made clear to head office as it's their brand that was taking a hit I was met with disdain. Avoid at all cost! Just drive a bit further to Molonglo Valley. Walked in at 9.45am. Ordered my 1st (2 muffins, 1 bottled apple juice, 1 hashbrown) through the kiosk, took 10 mins to received my order.
While eating, I ordered another 2 muffins for take away through apps at 10.03am. Big mistake! After 10 mins didn't hear the number being called, I stood in front of the counter (with many other unhappy customers) with 2 follow ups, I finally received an order of 2 muffins at 10.43am!! So I had been waiting for 40 mins and plus 10 mins prior!
There were plenty of staff standing and waiting. Not sure where did it go so wrong! A review into the process should be done. I redeemed a free ice mocha through the kiosk (yes! my 3rd order while waiting for my 2nd). I stood in front of the counter so could see what's going on - My mocha (and I believe all the drinks) are prepped near the drive through window. Once its ready, they were just left on the little table that sit between drive through area and the main kitchen with no note or anything. I could see that my mocha has been sitting there for at least 10 or 15 mins and there was no action by staff until I pointed it out. It was just an order for 1 drink! I would hate it if it was an order for hot coffee.
The drive through order were in chaos as well. Few customer had to popped into the shop and enquire about their order. It made the traffic flow into nightmare. A customer couldn't move their car out from the car park due to the long queue at the drive through blocking her way out. She had to popped into the shop and ask the staff but they did nothing!
Thought my situation was bad, another customer had to wait as long as me just to get 2 hot cross bun! It would be faster to go to the Woolies across the road and get hot cross bun. Its ridiculous! You need to really review your business process or don't bother...
Read moreUpdate 25/07/25: Have spent more visits back at this location. All mobile orders and pick-up. Food quality and consistency, plus service, has improved a lot.
In fact, was asked about my review posted here which is good to see feedback has been heard. That feedback loop is important, much appreciated.
Update 27/08/23: dropped to 1 star as have ordered take away twice from this store and once took 1hr to deliver via their app. Food was cold as expected. Pathetic given the order was $70+ in value.
The second time the 2 large fries I ordered were under half filled. Picture attached. Pretty much quantity would be if I ordered small. So either this store decided to start ripping it's customers off or shrinkflation has kicked. Again unacceptable as I got deceived.
Update 19/07/23: another chapter to the experience with this store. Have bumped their rating back up. I have been able to order both pick and delivery numerous times without issue in regards to items missing and wait times.
Update 18/12/22: I'm done ordering from here. For the last 5 delivery orders and 1 pick up they have consistently left out the fries. Don't know how they achieved it. Should get an award. Recommend looking for an alternative store until they get their service up to standard.
