Bruno's Truffels — Restaurant in District of Woden Valley

After spending quite a decent amount on Easter supplies I was encouraged to purchase the hot cross buns 6 for $16. Initially I said No Thank you, then when I was told they are the best in Canberra and they only bake them 7 days a year I decided to give them a go. I have to say, I was somewhat disappointed... I expected them to be good, awesome, melt in your mouth kind of stuff, and well to my complete disappointment they were only okay. Definitely NOT the best I’ve had and to be honest I’m not going back for more. I don’t like posting this as I like to support local business, however I was really disappointed with the hot cross buns especially after being told they were the best around! Delicious and authentic. Not only is this place scrupulously clean, but Bruno has very high meticulous standards for his ingredients and the making of his pastries, bread, chocolates and honey. Ask him if he's there and he will wax lyrically about the care he takes in making sourdough bread the traditional way, the bees he cares for with his local honey and the delicious quiches and pastries he makes. The Sourdough St Galla is the BEST on the planet. Its flavour, texture, holding abiity are just fantastic, fantastic. The gravilax is so fresh you would swear that the fish was swimming just a few minutes ago, it is the best I have ever had. His flavoured eclairs are just mouth watering, and full of flavour.
