Fika Cafe & Deli — Restaurant in District of Woden Valley

The chef here is very good.

However, I’ve downgraded my rating to a 4. I waited 30 minutes for a take away coffee on the weekend. I appreaciate you are busy but that’s excessive. This place used to be so smoothly run on weekends. What has happened recently? I’ve been coming here for years.

Edit to respond to owner: I asked staff three times whether my coffee was ready each time they told me no and it would be ready in 5 minutes. So the fact it was ready and i was forced to wait 30 minutes is even more frustrating and a more appalling example of customer service. As the staff were very aware I was waiting. I had the worst experience at this café. I ordered a chicken wrap, and to my shock, I found hair inside the wrap. I returned it, and they replaced it with another one, but unbelievably, the second wrap also had hair in it! This is beyond unacceptable. How can a place mess up basic hygiene like this, not once but twice? The lack of care in food preparation is appalling. I won’t be returning, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place. Fika is a fun little place for great coffee and a range of food options. We tend to go for breakfast, which is consistently good. My only issue is with the size of the meals, they are too big, even when you share. We have good appetites but my poached eggs and mushrooms had about half a kg of mushrooms...too much!
