Stayed for two nights in the single rooms, which are located at the back of the hotel. What I got sadly was a single room in a substandard shipping container. I’m used to staying in budget hotels and backpacker hostels as I hate spending a fortune on accommodation but this was worse than that. Absolutely overpriced for what I would describe as something I would expect at a detention centre. Also it was cold in my room, and yes there is air conditioning but it’s right above your head and I can’t sleep with air con on as I get too hot. Also the walls were so thin, I had to listen the loud noisy person next to me. (This was a last minute booking, and I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels…I expected a hotel room not a shipping container) I did end up asking to be moved to another room which they happily accommodated. The Hotel itself is quite nice, huge beer garden and kids playground.

On the outside it just looks like another pub but as you go in through the doors and you see how they've renovated it and made it a nice big now entertainment area drinking area gaming rooms there's upstairs rooms to stay overnight plenty of space out the back the staff are friendly and helpful we had a lunch special of the steak and it was fantastic it was mouth watering we're staying the night and we have been treated really nice we thank all the staff for being helpful and I recommend calling in and having a beer or stay the night for anybody passing through the rooms have been freshly renovated and they are so nice They are still doing up some of the rooms which have just a bed and a TV and shower and toilets as the owners were away I did not get to meet them but I did get to meet the manager maybe next time I'm over this way I will catch up with the owners from mwh

Not worth any cent for the accommodation. My King!!! room is a tiny part of a container with a tiny temporary bed and completely run down. 40°C in there on not even a summer day. Turned the aircon on which has never ever cleaned and give the room a distinctive smell. The bed rolls away while you are in there. Shocking that places in a city still offering that kind of accommodation. They have way better accommodation in the main building and if you know that and expect the same standard and end up in a container? Wow! I am coming through Dubbo regularly but definitely won't stay again. Every campground has a better standard! But finishing with something really good: The pub is nice and food is great. Staff very friendly. Just leave after dinner!

We stayed at Garden Hotel, Dubbo, while backpacking around NSW using a TrainLink Discovery Pass. Our criteria was Budget Accommodation close to train stations. Our Queen Size room with Shared Bathroom was comfortable. We used the community kitchenette to prepare our meals. Staff were a bit reluctant to let us use the laundry but did agree. We ate in the hotel Bistro on a Friday night. It was a great community atmosphere with the Salvos seeking donations and two kids' sports clubs selling raffle tickets. I always save money where I can, so am happy to 'Pay it Forward' with donations to charity. On the Saturday, we went to Dubbo Zoo by Bus. The Bus Stop is opposite the Garden Hotel, near Aldi. Zoo tickets are $6 cheaper if purchased on-line. You can also use Zoo tickets for two consecutive days. If we knew this we would have stayed longer! The Zoo has 5.6km of walking tracks in a bushland setting. You can also drive, hire bikes or electric carts. There is a veterinary hospital and platypus conservation centre - but we did not have time to check those out. Garden Hotel is within walking distance of parks, recreational facilities and Dubbo CBD. At night the main street looks really beautiful as there are fairy lights in all the trees. We...

It was my first time dining at this place during lunch, and unfortunately, it will also be my last. After placing our order, it took nearly an hour before we actually got our food. We waited for a long time without any updates, so I went to the kitchen to check — only to find out that they had completely forgotten our order. There was no apology, just a casual request to keep waiting.

Eventually, they brought out one of the starters, but even that was not what we originally ordered. I had to confirm with them twice before they told me the original item was no longer available and substituted it without informing me in advance. After another follow-up, they finally refunded the difference for the wrong item they charged us for.

As a customer, this was an extremely poor experience. What made it worse was the unprofessional attitude and lack of accountability in resolving the issue. I would not recommend this place to anyone considering dining here. I’ve been in Dubbo for a long time and have never had such an unpleasant experience. I won’t be returning, and I certainly won’t be bringing any friends...
