âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ A Delectable Malaysian Feast in the Heart of the City â Sedap Place is a Must-Try!
Been here twice! In my second visit I was blessed to be served by Eva and Akief. Great guys! Awesome hospitality.
SERVICE From the moment we stepped in, the team at Sedap Place made us feel warmly welcomed. The staff were friendly, attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely helpful when it came to recommending dishes. You can tell they take pride in not just serving food, but creating a truly Malaysian experience.
AMBIENCE The setting is casual yet full of personality. Think cosy, relaxed cafeteria vibes with a creative local twistâmodern lighting, hanging decor like rattan birdcages, and playful nods to Malaysian culture and cityscapes (spot the KL skyline mural!). Itâs the kind of place where you can settle in comfortably for a long, hearty meal with friends or family.
MENU The menu is a celebration of Malaysian favouritesâwith a modern spin. Some highlights:
đ Curry Laksa Volcano â A flavour explosion! Thick, coconut-rich broth with just the right level of spice, paired with tofu puffs, fishcake, prawns and a gorgeous half-boiled egg. It lives up to the âVolcanoâ name in taste and texture.
đĽ Roti Canai Mamak â Buttery, flaky, and served fresh off the griddle. The curry dip is heavenly.
đ§ Ice Kacang ABC with Durian â For the adventurous! Creamy, fragrant durian on a mountain of finely shaved ice, sweet corn, red beans and gula melaka. A love letter to Southeast Asian dessert lovers.
đš KL Tower Special â The star of the show! A tall dispenser of rich, chilled Milo, perfect for sharing. Nostalgic, chocolatey, and oh-so-satisfying.
đ¨ Cendol Durian â Creamy coconut milk, pandan cendol strands, red beans, and luscious durianâevery bite is indulgent, bold, and authentic.
đ Drinks-wise, thereâs something for everyone: iced Milo mountains, rose syrup bandung with grass jelly, and moreâall served in retro stainless steel mugs that make it feel like youâre back in a classic Malaysian kopitiam.
FINAL THOUGHTS Sedap Place delivers on its promise of being fun, modern yet authentic. Every dish tasted like it was made with heart. If youâre craving a Malaysian culinary escape, filled with flavour, charm, and generosityâthis is your place. A delicious and...
Read moreWent here mid December. We have come here a few times because of presentation of food and flavours are pretty good. Unfortunately it was not our best experience. Service was not the best. Had requested for my daughter the roti channai dish because she wanted one cheese and one plain because she loves both. Usually they just charge us the higher price for the combo and are pretty flexible. The wait staff said they cannot do it and I said they had done it before twice on previous visits. After much discussing and their initial refusal they said they would do it and charge us extra. I was not in the mood to argue about and i had invited other people to try with us so I said fine and let it go because I wanted my girl to enjoy her meal. If it costs $4 extra so be it. But unfortunately it got worse. It took her forever to get her only 1 roti and they served then another one much later. Why did they not just serve together I do not know. Like I said the previous 2 times I ordered it for her the 2 rotis were on one dish and they did not charge extra. It was just silly. Unfortunately that wasn't the end of it. I recommended our friend to get roti channai as well and add the chicken curry because i said to him it was really good and he saw my other daughter having the same thing and thought it looked quite good. The really bad thing is the dhal as the side dish had a long 20cm plastic strip inside! We quickly called the staff over and showed them the foreign item. They said oh okay we give another one. The senior waitress brought the new dhal and apologised but we wanted an explanation and advised them this should not be happening. After much discussion they only gave us 10% discount on the bill. They did not even offer to take off the contaminated meal from the bill. We were so disgusted we vowed never to come here again and apologized to our guests for the incident....
Read moreEdited review: 08/11/2022 Refer to last 2 picture.. Ordered via EatClub for 40% off. Nasi Lemak for sharing has shrunk dramatically & they used cabbage to make achar. Are you kidding me? Fried Chicken was so overcooked it was not edible. Sotong was chewy, Ayam Masak Merah tasted like rendang. Beef Rendang was ok. This time the Ten Tarik tasted bit powdery. Mee Goteng was ok..
Edited review: 15/08/2022 Did a takeaway order via EatClub for 40% off. Ordered roti & they tasted quite nice. Curry & dhal was provided. Satay just tasted like turmeric chicken, not charred like how satay is suppose to be. Nasi lemak didnât have any Santan taste to it & Achar did not taste fresh. Beef & condiments were ok. Teh Tarik was not filled up & nearly an inch was missing. So all in all not such a great meal compared to last week.

Ordered via Eatsclub & it was 40% off takeaway. Mee Goreng was spicy as requested but prawns didnât tasted that fresh. Beef Rendang was quite nice & tender & full of flavour. Teh Tarik not in the picture was quite nice. All in all much of an improvement compared to the last dine in experience about 11 months ago. But thereâs still room for improvement in terms of freshness.
Havenât been back for a while, thought we give it another go. Food wasnât as nice as what we had before, everything just tasted very spicy & canât differentiate the different spices for different side dishes. And myself being a Malaysian, I know what each dish should taste like. Unfortunately, they didnât deliver. Achar didnât look fresh, so didnât bother eating it. Fried Chicken was bland. Much better options elsewhere in Vic Park & Perth for proper Malaysian food. Felt a bit ill after having dinner here, so might have to give this place a...
