Disappointing and a let down. Grumpy staff member looked after us, table was sticky and not cleaned properly. We were going to buy from the conveyer but some of the food did not have covers on it. Pricing was quite obscene... a cup of lollies was $6, a cup of jelly (yes...jelly!) was the same.
One of our meals was ok but the Bun Bo Hue had what appeared to be old meat in it. It was very tough and smelled strongly of its own, even mixed with the dish.
A tiny little tub with chilli oil was 50c and another was $1 and called 'open food'.
When ordering water (at $4 !!) we got a bottle and no cups...
While the rest of Victoria Park was bustling with people and queues waiting into the streets, this place had plenty of seats and low volume of patrons. Hmmmm.
Owner: You need to pick up the game here. Imagine you want to eat here and make the changes. Also dont store things in the corner where it can be seen from the road and near tables... storage is elsewhere.
We will not return here after thinking to give this place another go.
Note the pricing wall... looks like it is regularly updated but so amateurishly ...its embarrassing. Not hard to make this look slick and clean!
Update: if you see reviews suddenly appear after criticism, and those reviews are 5 star, then you can assume safely that that review is false. Especially if that review is right after a low review and time lines...
Read moreTAO OWNER PLEASE READ. its very rare that I write a review, so understand I mean well but this needs to be addressed. Today at 2:00pm/3:00pm on 2/5/22 But my reason for one star is very important. I had ordered sushi to be made off the menu and in the meantime I was watching the female sushi chef who was rostered on at that time.
In that time she was doing Odd Jobs while with gloves she had on. she proceeded to MOP THE FLOOR with the same gloves she had on. I then had placed a order through, she then proceeded from mopping the floor to MAKING THE SUSHI with those same gloves. I had yelled out "NO".
The waiter then came to me asking me if everything is ok. I said "No, tell the sushi chef to change her gloves as she was just moping the floor with the same gloves that she is NOW touch the rice I am about to eat......." The waiter spoke to the chef. The waiter then came back to me saying.
(" Its okay she wiped her gloves on a T-towel.") I then said " Thats not ok, tell her change her gloves right now". she went back and spoke to the sushi chef for her to change her gloves.
In what world is this ok? How was this ever ok?
Understand plastic gloves are cheap. A trip to the hospital is not.
Very disappointed, won't be coming back as I worry for my health and other peoples health that I bring...
Read moreI am a single person from QLD on holiday in Perth and decided to go out for dinner near where I was staying. It was Valentine’s Day and I decided I wasn’t going to sit in my room and sulk... I was going to go out and have a nice meal. I chose Tao after my original choice was booked solid. I went in and asked for a table for one and was met with a very judgemental look from the waitress and a large “sigh” as she looked for a place for me to sit. When she sat me she didn’t give me a menu and I tried for 10 mins to get someone’s attention just to get a menu. I ordered a Gyoza entree and a laksa main. After ordering the food arrived quite quickly, however the main arrived before the entree. The laksa was an absolute ridiculous size, pretty much a bucket. It didn’t even look like I had touched it by the time I finished. Monumental waste of food if I didn’t ask for it to be put in a takeaway container (which also seemed like a massive effort for them). The food quality was also lackluster considering the price you pay (chicken in the laksa...
