Fantastically fresh and well seasoned dishes. We had lemon chicken (again) and again it didn’t disappoint. The chicken/batter/sauce combo was perfect and really well sized and presented. We also had salt and pepper squid (seeing we’re in Eden we had to choose one seafood dish) and that was also superb. So crispy, not at all oily (neither dish was), packed with flavour and a good hit of spice. The Chinese tea was legit and kept everything in balance (not on the menu but make sure to ask for it). This is one of my top lemon chicken dish restaurants. All with wonderful service from a young woman who was managing the floor by herself with a wonderful professionalism and a lovely smile for customers. Make sure you eat here when in Eden. A+++
I’d like to address a review below that says the restaurant is overpriced. I think this is an ignorant and small minded review. All businesses in country ares have to pay more for everything due to their location and they also get less customers in the big cities. We paid $47 for two well sized dishes, rice and tea and we were full afterwards. I believe this restaurant is well priced and would urge people to understand what it’s like to operate a business in a...
Read moreTravelled to most part of Asia, been around most parts in Australia and by far this little place in eden beats them all. Decor are modern and well designed, I love the back seating, reminds me of a traditional Chinese eatery with modern timber and lively green, the atmosphere is spot on and service is fast. I had a group of 3 and the meals are shareable. The 5 spice pork belly was superb, far beyond I couldn't remember the other meals, it was light and zesty simple and elegant, and pork belly was a proportional size. Shame that this was not available for takeaway. The meals came out as we placed the order, we wouldn't have mind the wait as we were drinking beers but the rice was a tad cold, peas were just below warm. Overall the experience was good and we have made reservation to come back again once covid clears up. Keep up the great work golden ocean and please open up a restaurant in...
Read moreGolden Ocean is a great Chinese restaurant with delicious food but has a few aspects that need improving. First the good, our entire party all loved the food, simply delicious and it was all made to order considerably quickly. They also make bubble tea which is quite rare in these parts, which is also exquisite in flavour albeit on the pricey side. Unfortunately the downfall is in the menu, because we came for lunch we got the lunch menu which was shockingly limited and notably had no vegetarian options. Although we were happily surprised by the cheap prices, that changed when everyone ordered and we found out all of the listed prices were outdated and all the meal were actually $1.50 extra. I do feel that the meal was worth the extra cost but it really should be stated ahead of time on the menu. Other than that the decor and atmosphere is quite nice and the owner was a...
