Toast Cafe Eden — Restaurant in Eden

My partner and I came here to get some breakfast. When the food came out, he saw a hair on my plate and picked it up straight away and asked if I still wanted to eat my meal. I said yes because I didn't want to waste the food. After taking a few bites, he found a hair in his food. He took his meal back and asked for a refund. When he came back I decided that I also didn't want to eat my meal anymore. The two hairs that he picked out of our meals were on his plate. He took my plate up as well (l'd only had two mouthfuls of food) and asked for a refund. They laughed and said that there was nothing wrong with the food. He tried to explain that he found a hair in my food, put it on the corner of HIS plate, and did the same with the hair he found on his plate. They kept laughing at him and accusing us of lying, literally laughing at his face. They said there was no way that both of the hairs were theirs because the hairs were blonde and black, and the only person in the kitchen is blonde. The woman on the till had black hair, and my partner and I have red hair. The hairs were definitely from the woman in the kitchen and behind the till. Would've just been a lot better if they hadn't laughed in my partners face. We both work hospitality. We know what to do it that situation. They staff on that day at sprout treated the situation poorly, treated their paying customers poorly, and causing a H&S threat.

Bad customer service and average food. My partner and I had ordered two meals, one being eggs on toast and the other was a breakfast burger. The meals took about 25 minutes to come out, an excessive amount of time as it was a quiet day, and both of our meals had a hair in them. When telling the lady at the counter she was incredibly defensive and rude, trying to insinuate that we had planted the hairs (the hairs were brown and blonde, my partner and I both have red hair) and even tried refusing a refund on one of the dishes. After the ordeal of me having to repeatedly ask for a refund, both the lady behind the counter and the one running the kitchen were incredibly rude and smug. I myself have been a chef and in hospitality for 5 years and I know for a fact that is not the way to treat disgruntled customers. All round the experience was poor, and we will not be recommending...

Just called in to get 2 takeaway lunches, sandwiches or rolls.

Had time to watch a very busy cafe operate while waiting for lunch.

The lunch choices were not just ordinary, but very wide in choices both usual types & fillings, and, the less common but delicious!

The staff were very efficient and friendly, even when some of the patrons behaviour left quite a bit to be desired - they were rude and thought they had some 'entitlement' to be get preferred service without waiting like all the rest of us - but they were treated with respect, which from their lack of manners, they didn't deserve.

The meals, came in very reasonable time and though just takeaway (there were not any table vacancies), were delicious! We enjoyed our lunch, sitting on the beach watching the surf and view.
