Horrible food at terrible prices Ordered the hot and sour soup - the most disappointing version of I have ever had. Tasted like corn starch mixed with eggs and tomato ketchup with frozen veg cubes thrown in. The clear chicken soup with vegetables was even more disappointing - this one was inedible - tasted like chicken in sugar water !! Portions were very small for the prices charged ... in a way it was good because we felt ok..when we had to abandon it !! Mains - we ordered Peking spare ribs - this was a messy affair with heavily battered ribs in half a bottle of sugary plum/tomato sauce. The other mains was no better - Sze Chuan Chicken spicy - the heat was unbearable - no skills were put to use here - the liberal use of raw chili powder sprinkled on top was a sad rendition to the actual version of the dish. The plain rice and water was probably the top two things on the menu ... The cashier/waitress couldn’t write up a proper receipt when we asked. Ordered a take away. It was pretty shocking. The prawns in batter were so overcooked the batter was burned and the prawns tough. I had ordered salt and pepper prawns which they said they could do and which should be with onions and chilli. It had neither just the burned prawns and a bit of hard rice at the bottom. The boiled rice we ordered was dry and had obviously been sitting for hours. The chicken in satay sauce was spicy but did at least have a satay taste. The beef in black been had large lumps of beef not slices as you normally get. It was tender but tasteless. It all cost just under $75 with about 2/3rds of it ending up in the bin. My partner and I decided to come here for dinner after reading other reviews and we were not disappointed! We got the honey chicken, the BBQ pork, rice and the home made dim sums. Each dish wash so delicious (especially the dim sums and honey chicken in my opinion!) and the portion sizes were generous. We didn’t have to over order to be full which we usually find is the case at other restaurants. The waiters/ owner were all so kind and happy. The owner even came to check that everything was fine and that we were enjoying the taste of the food. We will be coming back next time we are in Esperance on holidays- it was by far our favourite dinner here. What an amazing dinner and...
