The two star review relates to pork ribs only. The venue itself is realy nice, staff are very friendly and combined with the location, easily 4.5 stars minimum - for the venue.

As for the ribs, I loved that they were on the menu and I was looking forward to a bit of tender meat with some nice sauce. Price, for a full rack, was on the lower end so it was a nice bonus. When, I read the menu a little more closely, I saw that the ribs came with rice (!?) and vegetables. Staff thankfully advised that I could have chips instead of rice. When I asked about rice, they towed the party line but did not object to my surprise at what I would term a "bold combination".

There was a short wait for the ribs explained by a rather large order preceding mine. Portion size was good. Meat was soft but not succulent. The sauce however was not good. It felt like it was from a gravox packet and it really dulled the experience with its sharp, salty flavor.

Bad sauce and the default combo with rice made mine, a less than memorable experience. Pork ribs has the potential to be the menu's centre piece and should not be experimented with as much. Please get it right and I am back here for ribs faster than something...

Lovely location if you can get a table by the window to look at the sea.

Ordered two brisket burgers, one halloumi burger and the salmon dish. Also got the mango bruschetta toast as entree.

Mango bruschetta was expensive. Nice but small.

Salmon dish was delicious.

Halloumi burger was also nice, except for the fact that it’s packed with cheap filler that ruined the taste of the burger - Rocket salad leaves. A regular salad or coleslaw would have been fine.

Brisket burgers were both cold. The meat was cold to touch. We sent one burger back, which the staff were kind about. A new burger was bought out, warmer but still not hot. When you’re sitting outside and it’s very windy and cold, the last thing you want is a cold burger.

You need to go grab your own cutlery, water, serviettes and ask for tomato sauce if you’ve ordered hot chips. They don’t offer it or ask you if...

Visited Esperance this week and I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem. Not only this pub’s menu was appealing to please a lot of different food requirements for our group but the food was also tasty and well pressented. I have ordered a seafood aromatic curry and I was blown away how tasty it was. The presentation of food was good and the staff mostly were bery friendly, except the time when I realised my drink wasn’t delivered so I follow up on it as I was not sure if I should have waited for it at the bar. The drink was silently placed on my table as if I was too demanding. Overall, kids food was good and the staff had no problems doing extra on request. We didn’t have a booking and after numerous call without answers we decided to walk in. Booking is advisable! Thank you and yes I am...

Cracking location, great looking venue. Decent beer selection :) It has quite a lot of local beer, which is great to see. Although they arrive in James Squire glasses which I found quite funny, Food was top notch, the only vege dish they had available (which my partner ordered) was apparently really good, I sold out and went the Chicken Schnitty! It was great and I feel bad, but if you only eat meat once every now and then it's OK right? (more vege options would be preferable though) Music also fantastic, they play a lot of local WA music on the speakers. Love it!

We ate here on a Sunday evening. We'd booked a table in the downstairs restaurant but chose to eat upstairs, where it was a bit more lively. The service was friendly and efficient. I had BBQ pork ribs, and I can honestly say that they were the best I've ever had. The meat just fell off the bone and the flavour was perfect. My husband was very complimentary about his pulled pork burger - the pork was tasty and cooked well. Also, the chips were crisp on the outside and soft in the middle. I'd highly recommend a visit.
