Kam Hing Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Evans Head

Disappointed with the service. Our first time going to Evans Head. Friends who have eaten here before said the food was nice. 4 of the 5 main dishes arrived to our table within 30 mins of ordering. Server said my plum duck would come to the table shortly. The lemon chicken too greasy and made one of our group feel unwell.

I waited for about 10 mins before going to the counter to ask where my plum duck dish was. Girl on the counter said 'sorry we're really busy. I said most of our table have almost finished their food and my dish still hasn't arrived. Looking through the order receipts the girl said she would ask the kitchen to make it straight away. I waited another 15 minutes seeing food come out on trolleys and wait staff delivery food to other tables and still no duck for me.

I went and asked for a refund as I had been waiting almost an hour and no food for me. I was told my order was still waiting to be cooked and given my refund.

Went out for our monthly family dinner, Received our meals except one Throughout this time we had explained to 3 different staff we have not received this meal. By the time we have finished the rest of the meals, we went up to the counter and asked for a refund because we still haven’t received our meals. Where the short elder lady started yelling at us this is your fault, you told us you had it, Don’t abuse our staff when we were simply asking for a refund, As after 30 minutes, we didn’t receive our last meal. We had not ONCE been asked if we had received the fried rice. I understand mistakes happen, but telling me you are not customer orientated and allowed to abuse your customers is next level. Throughout this time another customer had brought his meal back due to their hair in it. Will not be returning absolutely...

🙄 seriously WORST food in town, our third attempt in five years as we are local. It will be our last. Food straight into takeaway containers for our chooks. Owner couldn’t have cared less just made sure I paid $1.50 for the containers 🤑 This family have had the kitchen at the Bowlo for years and god knows it’s time to move them on. The staff are great young locals happy to have a job 😊 but the food is poor, attitude poor and expensive for such loveless rations. Move on….better off with cheese and...
