Sandbar and Restaurant — Restaurant in Evans Head

We wanted to order the “big breakfast” which is on the menu, they told us they weren’t serving the “big breakfast” but we could order the “small breakfast”. Asked why since it’s the exact same ingredients in the big and small one, they told us it was because the big breakfast was longer to make since the quantity is a bit bigger, but we could order the small one with extras (to get the same quantity than the big one), which makes no sense since it won’t be any quicker this way but of course that will makes us pay much more for the exact same thing. So why leave the big breakfast on the menu if they don’t wanna serve it anymore even on a quiet day and offer to people to order the exact same by adding extras ? Must say the terrace was half empty when we ordered and there was no rush, but the food still took about one hour to be ready. We had our wedding ceremony and canapes on the beach yesterday..... Yep, on the beach, not in the restaurant. Genevieve is the Event Coordinator for Sandbar Restaurant and Evans Bowlo and was a DELIGHT to have on our team. This personable young lady (with the appropriate business qualifications I assure you) and her staff created the most amazing event for my wife and I. Service onto the sand to the marquee was friendly, personal and world class. Thankyou to Chef too! You nailed it! Delicious, sophisticated food. Genevieve and her attention to my wife's needs was impeccable and nothing was too much trouble in both the lead up and in the execution. We (7 adults and 2x young children) were excited to give this resturant a go today. Upon entry, we spoke with a young lady who bluntly told us there was no room for us and we should have made a booking due to no tables accommodating our party size even though the resturant had plenty of tables available.When we asked if we could pull a couple tables together, she rudely said we could not dine and sent us away.
