EXCUSE ME THERE IS A HAIR
Myself and my family dined in Jan for breakfast. The menu looked good and when we went to order all orders were taken before they started cooking, which was good as all our meals came together
Unfortunately for my daughter into her second mouth full she pulled out a long blonde ( grey ? ) hair from her meal
From where I was sitting I could see there was a gentleman in the kitchen with a rather long uncovered grey beard , but did not mention it to her as I knew it would turn her off her meal
When the food arrived it was nice but nothing special , wait times not too bad and the place was busy.
I chose mushrooms on toast and added tomato. Mine was very dry, no butter on bread and no pan juices
My daughter also found that the white of her egg was uncooked and transparent in places so she thought she would get some aioli and just eat her mushrooms on toast and leave everything else
On going up to the counter she asked the waitress for the aioli and just mentioned that there was a long blonde / grey hair in her food and the egg white wasn't cooked
The waitress exact words were " Sorry babe, that will be $2 for the aioli". My daughter felt like she brushed her off like she was lying, the old hair in the food trick.
She didn't want anything for free just an acknowledgement that this had actually happened the waitress couldn't care less Didn't even say I'm sorry I will pass it on to the kitchen or anything just wanted her $2 and walked off
Bad service and a bad look with an uncovered long grey beard man cooking / cleaning?? in the kitchen, food with grey hairs in it, uncooked egg white and waitress who didn't give a toss
We left not feeling good about our experience ,...
Read moreMy father owns 2 restaurants on the Gold Coast and I know what good management is and how important it is to give your customers a good experience. The manager was the rudest person I have ever experienced she was poorly presented, unwelcoming, after paying $25 for the hotcakes that were nothing like pancakes when I tried to eat it I couldn’t even cut it that’s how hard and dense it was it tasted like it was re heated in the microwave. after letting the manager know she couldn’t of cared less and told me that’s exactly what I ordered that was on the menu and she made it very clear she wasn’t going to refund my money because there was nothing wrong with it, she said hot cakes are not pancakes, so basically blamed me for not understanding the menu. I expected pancakes as I’m sure anyone would but instead got 2 small muffin size cakes stacked on top of each other The meal couldn’t be eaten so I had to pay for another meal. The manager did not show any professionalism towards dealing with this situation and dealt with it very poorly. The whole time me and my family were there nothing was cleared off the table until we left yet I had clear view of the manager and the whole time we were there she was sitting down eating, then talking on her phone while behind the drink bar then after that was flirting with a male customer that came in until we left. She showed no compassion for our experience there. She basically ignored us. It blows my mind how people like that have a job in hospitality. I would have to say that was the worst customer service from the manager that I’ve ever experienced. She had absolutely no manager skills. I had a better lunch at Costco...

I ordered the batch brew filtered coffee and it was delicious! Hubby had scrambled eggs on sourdough and I had the smashed avo with a poached egg. The scrambled eggs had a variety of infused flavors which were most enjoyable, hubby reported! My avo smash was delicious. The sourdough was the only part that I would say wasn’t on par with everything else for me. The thin pieces were a little over cooked, and I prefer thicker pieces lightly toasted. But that’s a personal preference as hubby had no issues with it at all. They have just started live music on Sundays from 11:30 to 2:30 PM and will be open for dinner from 23 August 2019. Super food, extremely friendly staff, and will visit again. Thanks Alkemist for being so understanding of our...
