Double Zero Broadbeach overall experience was not bad — my family and I went to the restaurant twice during our 10-day trip to the Gold Coast.
Service
Ok so to begin with information regarding the waiters, The waiters (or service crew, whatever you wanna call them) were super nice and even One of the young waitresses was actually Italian and from the same city as my other family member who is an exchange student. (Not really part of family technically but still). She was one of the nicest waiters I have ever came across and she was so polite — and conversation driven towards my family. She didn’t refill our glasses much — but honestly, it’s understandable.
First Visit
Please note that me and my family have already been to double zero way back about 8 or 9 years ago anyways — all my family felt like an Nutella pizza (not me hahah) and we decided to go here instead because the other place that sold Nutella BOMMBAAAaaaaa would of been a more busy and jam packed — It’s ended up being a Nutella Calzone — it’s basically the same as pizza — it was lovely — my whole family and I loved it! Dad paid the bill then we left with smiles on our faces.
Second Visit
About a couple days later we went to Double Zero again — we went late at a time like 8:00pm — There were about three tables full, but other than that it was pretty much just us. For food — starters were Garlic bread, Olive all’ascolana, Arenchini, Roasted Pipi (calabrese name). They were all good, at least that’s what some of my family members said. My main dish was a Margarita pizza — there was lots of basil — it was thin — just as a Neapolitan pizza should be — was a bit unique to others which was good. I didn’t finish it all because I was too full. I also tried a bit of my little sister's kids Bolognese pasta — it was a bit cold by the time I started eating a bit of it but overall, it tasted as good as my Nonna’s would make them. As we — left waiter was super polite and gave us a really nice farewell, telling us to come again eventually.
Final Thoughts
Would I recommend? Yes! The food’s lovely and the whole place has decent vibes. These days a lot of Italian places aren’t actually owned by Italians — which surprised me at first, but honestly it doesn’t really matter. People are just out here trying to make a living for themselves — and the good ones actually want restaurants runned the best way they can — also I can't remember the price — but I think it wasn't too expensive. If you’re in Broadbeach give this a try if you...
Read moreHands down Double Zero has the best pizza in all over the Gold Coast. Been coming up from Sydney for the past 10 years and tried so many pizza places on the Gold Coast but nothing can beat Double Zero. Their service is amazing and the staff were very charming and obliging and were all so lovely and made every effort to ensure that we were welcomed and well looked after. Everything tastes as if it’s literally made in Napoli. Everything they serve oozes out fresh quality ingredients. Absolutely lovely experience at this small little pizza joint in Broadbeach. The open kitchen let you see the chef making the pizza in the wood fired pizza oven. We tried the Calabrese pizza and the popular Nonna Gina pizza. They were to die for!!!! Highly recommend to check this place for authentic wood fired pizza. It is easily the best pizza we have ever had - nothing beats an expertly wood fired pizza, with fresh tomato sauce and toppings. We would recommend to anyone! Overall we had a wonderful experience at Double Zero and strongly encourage you to pay a visit. We will definitely be back on our next trip to the Gold Coast to try their pasta’s as well. You will not be disappointed. Once again, thanks for the incredible...
Read moreSo the ladies and I went out for a mid-week dinner to catch up and enjoy nice meal. The service was decent and the food was tasty... BUT My big ick was that one of the ladies in our party loves a good serving of parmesan and well her pssta came with some on it, about halfway through she was craving a little bit more... She politely asked the server for some more parmesan and was told that this would cost her $3 extra.!!! This is insane! We were each dropping 40 to $60 per person for dinner and they had the audacity to ask my friend to pay extra for a little bit of Parmesan cheese. Double Zero these kind of behaviors nickel and dime yourselves out of business. You need to be better at this. This one incident has turned us all off this restaurant. So there you go. One cheap little policy has now cost you four customers and everybody that we know and tell about the experience. Operating in a competitive environment like Broadbeach requires not only good food but good service and respect for your customer. I guess it shouldn't surprise me that there were only three tables occupied in the restaurant that evening....
