While you have your pub fav’s, this chef has bent a few classics with great success. Great customer service and an atmosphere that has you admiring the beach. So, lets break it down… Atmosphere: ***** Lunch time on Wednesday – Not overly busy. Pub decor, extremely clean and spacious with abundance of tables. Both indoor and outdoor eating areas available and has a great view of Burleigh Beach. Customer Service: ***** Was greet by two very nice representatives who led us to our seats and explained the online ordering system via QR code. The system was very easy to use, payment by Credit Card or Apple Pay if you like. Once the order was in, drinks were delivered within 2 minutes and food was delivered within 5-7 minutes. Very impressed! Be careful to ensure that you are submitting your orders around the same time – orders did roll out to us as soon as they were lodged. Food: ***** Order: Pork Belly with Asian Salad (Chef Special) $18 – Excellently cooked and a nice contrast with the Asian salad. Thoroughly Enjoyed Salt and Pepper Calamari (Entrée) $15 – Excellently cook, not chewy and not over seasoned. Hit the spot Fried Chicken & Bacon Burger with Chips – Very tasty, nice sauce to match the salads and the bun was fresh and delicious Sweet Potato Chips with Aioli – a great little snack to indulge, chips were crispy, and the aioli was a nice little extra. Overall: Definitely a pub with some nice bends on your traditional pub meals, plus the traditional food we all love. Very impressed with this pub and recommend to all. Well Done BH Hotel.

We had a table of 6 adults and 2 children. Nearly everything was subpar. All 3 steaks were overcooked. 2 Mediums and a Medium Rare All 3 looked well done. No pink whatsoever, and the mushroom sauce was cold. The salads were all a reasonable size serving but were dry and underdressed. No one wants to eat dry cabbage.

And while the fish and chips were fine. They were just frozen fish portions. Fine for the kids, I guess. But the adult serve was just 2 of the same frozen portions the kids got. For $27, I expect you to batter and cook 1 big piece for an adult serve not just wack 2 frozen fish portions in the fryer and then on a the plate.

The Chicken Burger was actually very nice. No compaints on that meal. The Kilpatrick Oysters were also perfectly fine, no complaints there.

The deserts were delicious, however the cheap ice cream topping and fake cream on the plate detracted from rather than added to the experience. Dragging a nice cake through, cheap caramel ice cream topping and can cream only makes the cake taste worse not better... Real cream, no substitute, We are not in America!

Our coffees all came out completely flat not just like a flat white, but like zero froth. My wife even joked with them, like is the frother not working? Flat milk throws the ratio off and makes the coffee taste get lost.

And the pina Coladas all had barely any Coconut and tasted like pinneaple juice with Rum, I watched him shake and pour them, only to realise he hadn't made enough for 5 drinks they were all 80% full so he just topped them all up with straight pineapple juice. Resulting in the ratio being way off and them all taking far more like Pineapple juice than anything else...

When I brought this to his attention he just defensively stated "I put malibu in it, I put Coconut cream in it. Yeah mate, but not nearly enough, you couldn't even taste it. The Malibu you could taste but no creaminess whatsoever might as well have been a Rum, malibu and juice.

They had a small amount of counter cream and dedicated coconut on top. The desictaed Coconut didn't add to the experience whatsoever. Much like the cheap toppings on the dessert they only detracted from it. I want a pina colada to be creamy and I do not what little bits of dedicated Coconut stuck in my teeth when I drink it.

We came here for a a post funeral lunch. We were all very emotional and no one had the energy to complain except me.

The complaints about the coffee and pina coladas were both met with "oh I had to make so many I did them all together and it didn't work like it normally does.

You would be better off doing 2 smaller batches at a higher quality than doing 1 big batch and serving 5-6 people crap drinks and crap coffee...

I very rarely leave bad reviews but this place definitely earned one. Made a reservation for dinner and when we arrived we were completely ignored by multiple staff who walked by us, not even acknowledged with a hello. We stood there like idiots for a while at the door where you’d usually have someone greet you and be seated. Walked up to the counter where you pay when you leave and the lady says “oh I don’t do the reservations” but managed to find our table. She left, without another word. We’re sitting there for 15 minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us or bring water, as this is pretty standard in every establishment I’ve ever eaten at - but no, still ignored. Tried to use the QR code to look at the menu and it doesn’t work we had to get up again and go and ask about this to be told “the wifi isn’t working you have to order at the counter”. At this point we still weren’t even given menus and had to go and get them ourselves. Staff were all more interested in having conversations between themselves even while I was there trying to talk to them. It was actually unbelievable. The food was average at best. Took 25 minutes to be brought 2 cocktails because two female staff were too busy chatting between themselves at the bar when I could physically see my drinks sitting right there. Not once did any staff make any attempt at any kind of customer service even when they could see we were looking around for help. There were also in excess of 10+ dirty tables left covered in food and cutlery not cleaned from when customers left that sat there while the staff were completely unbothered and gossiping. Honestly, avoid at all costs. $220 well wasted here and I would have rather paid double elsewhere to have some kind of basic service and decent food. Of course when we left we were just looked at and never uttered a goodbye, smile or how was your food? from any staff. Put a bit of a dampener on the last night of our holidays which should have...
