Visited the Cove Cafe after reading some good (& recent reviews). The Cove Cafe were advertising a "locals" special for $25 pp. All good so far. When we visited the Cafe had about six tables occupied so not busy. My issue is that there was hardly ANY food on offer......make your own toast with condiments, breakfast cereals, yoghurts, individual fruit bowls (with a handful of pre cut fruit), four different miniature pastries (also presented in individual bowls) and your choice of apple, orange juice or water. The advertised menu (on opentable.com.au) shows 11 choices of Main Dishes for breakfast on offer yet our menu presented to us this morning showed only half these choices and it still took 45 minutes for the meal to arrive. If I was expected to pay $42 per adult (which is the advertised price shown on the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove's website) then I would be very peeved. Thinking that we were paying $25 was a good deal BUT unfortunately the Cove Cafe did not deliver this morning and I would be very hesitant to return or to recommend this. Sorry Cove Cafe.....not value for money even in these...
Read moreThe overall atmosphere of the place makes you excited to eat but unfortunately the food and service do not reflect that. As we were not guests of the hotel we paid $50/ person. The waiter did not greet us nicely, was rude and then did not even offer a drink to start the breakfast as I saw every other guest have that offered to them and have had it every other time I have been here. The quality has plummeted since the other 3/4 times I have visited the buffet breakfast. Our food was stone cold (eggs and bacon) the juice was sickly off. Bowls and plates were not cleaned properly and they were only dried on one side or sometimes not even at all. This so called 5-star service is definitely not living up to standard. Wish I could say it was worth it but it is...
Read moreVisited the Cove Cafe for the Saturday night seafood buffet as a group of 4 Adults. Great selection for seafood lovers - fresh prawns, oysters, crab, salmon, sashimi the works. This restaurant excelled at both of my favourites - seafood and dessert. Yum! Hot food was nice but not as extensive as the seafood and dessert (not that I was complaining). We also had the wine buffet with dinner - definitely worth it. The restaurant itself is is cosy and intimate. Customer service was good. We were first time visitors so thought our waitor could've explained the formality of both buffets better - very minor. Loved it otherwise. Parking is plentiful and easily accessible. Will definitely...
