My husband was so excited to bring me here today for a baguette & pastry. The atmosphere inside the cafe was anything but exciting. After looking through the cabinet for a bit to choose what sweet pastry I would like, I told the man at the till that I couldn’t pronounce the name of the pastry, to which he rudely told me under his breath then shook his head like I was absolute idiot. I actually felt so embarrassed for myself in that moment. He was so cold, didn’t make any eye contact, and if he tried, it looked like he just wanted to boil over the edge and scream at us. We walked outside to find a table, and just watched the waitstaff assisting outside in absolute disbelief. The young girl was so incredibly rude to every customer, she even put her hand out to one customer at a table suggesting that they should pick their plates up and pass them to her, in clear reaching distance for her. Just absolute laziness and entitlement from waitstaff. Our waiter came out with our food and I in a very respectful way told him about our experience with the front counter, and he basically just laughed it off and insinuated ‘oh well, is what it is’. Judging by all the negative comments on your service at this cafe, I think it may be time to reconsider your staffing choices before they damage your brand further. Unfortunately in the hospitality industry, everyone is replaceable and customers will end up seeking out better service over the food just so they feel like their hard earned money is valued. I certainly won’t...
Read moreThis bakery has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The server was either racist, classist or both. We didn’t catch his name, but he looked like a short, Dr. Phil. As soon as we stepped into the store we were ignored, yet everyone else was kindly greeted. We were the only ones who had to go up to the server in order to get his attention, others had to simply stand around and they were showered with wonderful customer service. While ordering my mother asked the server a simple question “do you have any almond croissants?”, he responded with a snarky “no”. He was rude throughout our entire interaction. Despite this, we ended up spending $140 on pastries (more than anyone else in the store). A family friend recommended this bakery so we thought we would stick it out and give it a try. My family will never come back to this store, and I will make sure to tell everyone that I know to avoid this shop at all costs. The server should not be so judgemental as I know for a fact that we earn more money than him, and he should be honest with himself, he serves pastry for a living. It’s nothing to act “holier-than-thou” about. The other one star reviews show that this store has an issue with snobbery. Save your money and go...
Read moreI've only been once, but based on this experience there are some issues. The pastries are great, and the breads look wonderful. However the customer service fell very short on the Saturday we visited (9th Nov). I stood at the register, clearly waiting for service for over a minute while 'busy' staff repeatedly walked straight past me without any acknowledgement. The bakery was far from full. I completely understand that sometimes people have to be kept waiting, but in this scenario it is appropriate to acknowledge their existence with a "We'll be right with you!", rather than completely ignoring them.
Afterwards on our way out I purchased two items to takeaway; a lemon macaron and a lunette. Given that they were packed away in boxes and fancy bags I did not check my order, and later that afternoon found what I was given was completely incorrect. A berry macaron and a pain au chocolate 🤷🏼♀️. Good customer service is really not that difficult to achieve, and with a team of at least 5 staff to an only moderately busy bakery, this should be the case. Perhaps some more training...
