Tried this place on Sunday night with my family of six. They seated us inside as opposed to outside, which was fine, except there wasn’t an option to pick on the Booking website and inside was very hot. We waited an hour for our drinks at which point we called our waitress over after another previous follow up and changed from cocktails to a bottle of wine in the hopes that this would be easier for the staff to handle as they were clearly under pressure, but the wine took 20 further minutes. By that point we had finished our entrées and mains had been served. I had read some other reviews that complained about wait times on mains so was expecting it to take a little longer and it did. Food was fine. Would probably be better as Takeaway rather than eating in the restaurant. At one point the large crowd that was outside and likely the cause for the large wait time for drinks all came into the small restaurant to pay one by one and were disturbing all the tables that were eating inside. It didn’t look like there was any one there to lead the staff who all seemed a bit intimidated by the entire situation and by the number of orders that were coming in. I think with some better management and leadership the show could’ve run a lot smoother. it was also disappointing to see so many cocktails, and drinks being taken outside the large table of 30 people, and no one inside was being attended to or served their drinks. Maybe we need to try on a less busy night but a restaurant opening in summer at Burleigh heads needs to be able to deal with busy rushes from...
Read morel am always wanting to join my girlfriend for pizza somewhere as she loves it and trying to find a some what half decent GF option is always a challenge for me. This has not been the best experience in the past but she came across reviews for Crispy Italian Bar and the review had mentioned great GF options for their pizza.
So we gave it a go and l wasn’t really excited tbh so we decided to get takeaway. We got two pizzas and mine was the GF option Diavola pizza. The staff were fantastic and very accommodating as we waited for them to make the pizza on a kind of busy Saturday night.
Anyway we got the pizza and went home to eat and we opened the boxes. Seriously! I had to look at my pizza and my girlfriend’s so many times. I just couldn’t believe how absolutely perfect my Gluten Free pizza was that it looked better than her pizza hands down and this has never ever been the case. Don’t get me wrong her pizza was great as well but mine looked better. I really thought they labeled the pizzas wrong. It was the most incredible pizza l have ever had. Don’t know how they made it so good to get that base so nice and soft and somewhat puffy like a normal gourmet pizza. The way they did that was perfect and l wish l had a pic to add to this review but l couldn’t eat it quick enough while a little bit worried that this wasn’t GF free haha!
Unbelievable and my go to for pizza from now on. I can’t wait to go back.
l can be excited for pizza finally yes!
Thank you Crispy Italian Bar 10 out of 5 for the best GF pizza I have ever...
Read moreSub-par service and disappointing food, not keen on returning anytime soon. We booked a table for 3, were seated but not given any direction as to how to order (table service or QR code?) so we figured to use the QR code on the menu because staff weren’t around to take our order. Ordered some drinks and a bowl of olives as entree and (photo is of the half eaten bowl of olives), it was a bowl of sliced (cheap pizza-topping style) olives with garlic paste squirted over the top (not mixed in either). Very salty and disappointing given the $12 price tag.
Main came out 45 mins later due to an internet issue which screwed up our online order. We would’ve been understanding about this if they had told us there was an issue, but instead we were left unattended to and staff seemed to deliberately avoid our table the entire time.
After finally receiving our meals (2x rigatoni’s and 1 pizza) we received 1 linguine instead of one of the rigatoni’s and were told it was because they had run out of rigatoni. Again, we wouldn’t have minded if they had told us before serving it to us. But overall a total lack of communication ruined this already lacklustre experience for us (the olives really set the poor vibe). The owner offered free limoncello cocktails as an apology for all the stuff-ups, but the drinks never arrived either. Such a shame as we were excited to check this place out as it looked great...
