Down 2 Earth Cafe — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

This place has gone so far down hill I will never return! The owners are rude and the hygiene is disgusting. I watched the lady coughing into her hand and then proceed to peel and cut bananas which she bagged up without using gloves. The other staff members take phone calls, use their mobile phones, handle money and wipe down the bench tops with the same gloves on that they make the acai bowls and smoothies with...no change of gloves! The service when ordering is so rude I will not spend my money is this place ever again. Such a shame as my teenager daughter loved this place 18mths ago but the past 4-5 visits I have left feeling disgusted. Enough is enough...shame on the owners of this once fantastic establishment! The BEST place for fun, sweet acai just the way you like it.

I've had the Cherry Ripe before and it was sensational. Today I had the peanut butter and I think I have a new favourite.

The girls were super friendly when I walked it and naturally, I was overwhelmed by choice with the incredibly delicious selection of smoothies and bowls. The lady suggested a drizzle of honey on top and naturally I added chocolate (a must do if you buy an acai here).

The bowl was phenomenal, the acai/smoothie was creamy and mousey in texture, so beautiful fluffy and light. Generous amounts of Granola on top and bottom where sprinkled lightly with nuts and coconut. The Granola was crunchy and not too sweet - just how I love it.

I use to love the acai bowls from Down 2 Earth Organics however they have been disappointing recently, and especially on my last visit when my partner and I had a white blonde hair blended through both of our acai bowls. I have noticed most of the time the acai bowls are premade and frozen, they bring them out to decorate with toppings and they taste icey and hard, not freshly blended as you would expect from a place like this. They also use Coles frozen fruit among other things that aren't organic so don't be fooled by the name. The customer service is terrible and the shop is looking very run down.
