My wife and I took her parents and grandfather to dinner here for her mother's bday. Previously my wife and I had great experiences, but tonight I was ready to walk out. Service was horrendous and food was undercooked.
We arrived at 6.30pm, ordered drinks on arrival and then around 6.45pm ordered food. Firstly, the drinks we ordered didn't come out, we had to chase the bottle of beer and glass of Prosecco. We then ordered a bottle of wine and that was slow to come out.
At 7.30pm our food still hadn't arrived, although we had seen another table finish their dinner, leave, their table split into 2 tables, a new family arrive, they ordered their food and it had arrived at 7.15pm, while we were still waiting. We asked were our food was and was assured it was almost ready.
The food arrived at 7.35pm, the pasta was undercooked, not al dente like the server claimed but undercooked. By this stage I was over it and wanted to leave, if it wasn't for it being my mother in-laws bday I would have.
Soooo disappointed it's not funny, especially when we changed our dinner plans for the bday because 'we knew a good Italian restaurant'.... NOT ANYMORE, I DONT KNOW WHETHER ITS NEW STAFF OR PEOPLE THAT DONT CARE, BUT SERIOUSLY AVOID
Thanks for your reply, most restaurants would just apologise rather than blame their customers for poor service by your staff. And my wife and I weren't rude to your staff, we just pointed out that the service was terrible and food undercooked. You weren't overly busy as you stated, but regardless the fact you served other guests their food before us, that arrived 30min after us shows that it was just a lack of caring or attention.
After reading through your other reviews, we arent the only ones to have had this experience, others have had issues with waiting extended time for food and then received undercooked food.
If you look at my reviews you will see that I usually leave good reviews to those that deserve it... On this occasion you earnt a review for all the...
Read moreI went to this restaurant tonight for the first time. The service was brilliant and the restaurant had an authentic Italian feel.
I’ve read some of the feedback in the reviews here and while the majority is positive, i have to say this..
Everyone has an acquired taste and just because you don’t like something, does NOT mean it isn’t good. It also doesn’t mean it isn’t of high quality.
The food served at this restaurant is definitely of high quality and as someone who has travelled a lot, it is authentic!
Tonight I tried a pasta from the specials menu, and honestly, it wasn’t to my personal acquired taste. When the owner came to check on us and asked how we liked our food, I was honest. I gave my own personal feedback and explained the pasta was okay, but wasn’t to my personal taste. I communicated with him respectfully.
The owner insisted that I choose another meal from the menu! He didn’t have to make me something else just because I ordered something that I didn’t 100% love, but he did. There was nothing wrong with the pasta, it just wasn’t to my taste.
He not only insisted that I choose something else, but genuinely wanted me to leave happy!
In saying all of that, the meal I ordered afterwards (Parma pizza) was absolutely amazing. The pizza crust (hand made in the restaurant) is flipping beautiful! All of my friends enjoyed their meals and the entrees we ordered were divine. One of my friends even took plain crust home from the ends of her pizza so she could smother them in butter and garlic and eat them the next day. The ‘kiss me’ cocktail is probably the best cocktail I’ve ever had. And top of all of this, the prices are affordable!
We were so full that we couldn’t order dessert but they looked amazing and we will go back and try them all!
Thank you for an all round pleasant and delicious evening! We...
Read moreA small intimate and cozy Italian restaurant right in Palm Beach⛱️ The ambience was nicely lit and it's a great place to sit with friends to eat and chat for dinner.
We ordered a few dishes to share between the three of us (my favourites are marked with 🌟): Bresaola Rucola & Grana (wagyu bresaola, rocket, and parmigiana reggiano) 🌟 Tagliatelle Bolognese (beef ragu with parmigiana reggiano) Lasagna Caterina (beef rags, ham, eggs, mozzarella, and parmigiana reggiano) 🌟 Carbonara Pizza (mozzarella, pancetta, egg yolks, shaved pecorino romano, and black pepper) Pere & Grana (rocket, parmigiano reggiano, pears, and honey) 🌟 Tiramisu Cannoli Siciliani
It definitely was a beautiful spread. The portions for each food were so big that we had to take away.
Bresaola is a must if you come here. Tender and soft wagyu paired well with the rocket. Treat yourself and pair it with a glass of wine!
I loved the lasagna as it came fresh and piping hot out of the oven - it was still bubbling! The ham was a nice twist in the lasagna. I really enjoyed this even though I'm not a lasagna person.
The salad was a nice touch to balance out the heavy loaded meal. It was sweet with a nice crunch from the pear. It helped to cleanse your palate to keep eating more!
A special mention for the Carbonara Pizza. My friends loved this so much. It definitely was the best of both worlds if you love the flavour of carbonara and you want as a topping on a pizza 😙🤌🏻 well done to The Deli's creativity. I loved the based and it's an added bonus when it is made fresh and cooked straight from the wood fire oven.
Another special mention that for those with dietary requirements you can make pizza and pasta vegan and gluten free! The Deli by Pepe Italia definitely...
