I’ve been meaning to write a review for Gino’s for a good few months - it’s fantastic!
The owners and staff are all lovely, and the atmosphere is great. I’ve sat outside when it’s been raining and their set up is fab - I was warm enough even in winter and didn’t get wet.
But, most importantly, the food is fantastic! I’ve eaten here a good few times in the last couple of months (and had takeaway - the spaghetti bolognaise travels well!) and I can recommend everything I’ve eaten! The garlic bread and the bruschetta are some of the best on the Gold Coast (and I like my breads!). Every pasta I’ve tried has been full of flavour, tasty and cooked to perfection. The Vitello Primavera was outstanding and the steak is amazing. I mean AMAZING! Better than any steakhouse you’ll find. My favourite is the one with the brandy and cream sauce. I struggle to decide what to order, but I’m making my way through the menu.
Hopefully this isn’t sounding too good to be true…I just really like this place and haven’t had a bad meal. If you couldn’t decide whether to give this place a go, let this be your deciding review! You won’t regret it :)
Ooh, I almost forgot the deserts too! The strawberry crepe is delicious, and the profiteroles and good too. The mixed desert is a great option if you can’t decide what to try, and all three are tasty.
Edit: I went back on Friday for another meal with friends. My steak was cooked to perfection, and I’d argue the bruschetta is one of the best on the GC! I heard that arancini will be on the menu from this week, so I’ll be going back to try those at some point too! Read moreJust had 3 mains and deserts delivered and all I can say is I have never in my life tasted a Chicken Ceaser so disgusting(Chicken dry and like rubber/croutons stale chunks of bread that were inedible/bacon bits soggy not crisp and of questionable quality???? Parmesan so overpowering it made the meal nauseating/ Touted as traditional? hmmmmm a few componants missing methinks!!!! A simple Bolognese was nothing better than tinned stuff(my Daughter is not fussy and couldnt eat it!!! ) Morton Bay Bugs were not up to standard, the side veges were of inferior quality or overcooked? Rice was not disgusting but had a peculiar flavor? $110.00 for the meals and all that was enjoyed was the 2 deserts..... Took me 5 hours of work to pay for those meals. All I can say is if I was to deliver such a poor standard to my employer and customers I would not have a Job!!!! I hope their cook(cannot say cheff)was just having a BAD night!!!! Everyone enjoyed their meals & the garlic bread was yummy too 👍🏻😊 My daughter LOVES the Carbonara & has returned just for that 😊 We also found the older waitresses reaction to us not drinking wine rather amusing too...lol! One questionable thing that shocked me however, was that the Parmesan Cheese they brought for our meals (along with the large pepper grinder) wasn't a fresh block that they grated onto your meal, it was the powdered variety...!?
