The Terrace Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

This place charges you more when you get the bill than the prices advertised on the menu! When I politely pointed this out to the waitress upon payment, she acted all angry and like I was the one in the wrong and rude for mentioning it! Unbelievable non existent manners for an hospitality business! I know they have a different culture and behaviour than us in Australia, but a simple “hello” upon arrival and a “thank you” and “good bye” when leaving would be appreciated. Friendly reminder to the owners and staff there: If you decide to live, settle and open a business in a country with a different culture to yours, make sure to blend in and use appropriate manners and social habits to fit with those welcoming you in their land! You have terrible customer service and manners in general! Meals were barely ok, small and bland. Do yourself a favour and don’t waste your money in this “restaurant”! I am going to do everything in my power to turn people away from it and make sure they lose customers, as I live in the neighbourhood and know many people who dine out very frequently in our area. Even though we became regular customers since moving up here 4 yrs ago, we are pleasantly surprised each and every time by great food , good service, very affordable at both locations at Runaway Bay and Labrador ! It is a family run business, and their main priority is customer satisfaction . One can chose to dine in , and is also very popular for take away , and they also do delivery!!If you are a Thai food lover, this is a must visit and try out place. Even on our travelling around in our state and other states, we never came across an other one that is even close to Terrace Thai. Only comparison we could make is when we use to dine in Thailand, before pandemic. We look forward each and every time to our return there. Not sure if this is goldcoast’s standard but everything tastes weird and frozen. We got a thai peanut sauce stir fried with chicken but the vegetable wasnt stir fried at all, they were boiled and the chef even put the boiled water into the dish, making everything very watery (very thick sauce on top and a puddle at the bottom). Peanut, chicken and beef tastes so old and weird. Pad thai wasnt authentic at all. Only tom yum is eatable but it’s still quite sour and salty to my taste, had to eat with a lot of rice.
