I had the beef biriyani from Bay leaf and the food was very delicious however the only thing missing from the dish are the condiments and papaddam. For every biriyani, raita and pickle is necessary for balancing the spiciness. My only feedback would be to add little bit of raita and curd along with one piece of pappadam as this is very important for the Biriyani culture. Why raita and pickle? The raita would reduce the spiciness in the dish and for the ones who needs little bit more spice, they can mix the pickle to get that extra hot taste. So the dish can be made in mild medium or hot spice but there will be times when a customer might think it’s more spicy or less spicy and during these times, these condiments would really help. Majority of the Indian restaurants in the Gold Coast do provide so I feel for a dish as good as yours only has one missing piece and it’s the condiment. Hope this feedback...
Read moreWithout a doubt the greatest Indian Restuarnt on the GC. You may think you know what a good Rogan Josh or Chicken Tikka Masala tastes like, but that's before Chef Roshan's makes it for you. His dishes are on a completely different level to what you're used to - the flavour is next level - it will blow your mind and you will come to realise just how disapointing everything you have tasted elswhere has been up until this point. You simply can't go back. If Chef Roshan charged 50% more for his dishes I would gladly pay him because the flavour is world class. If you want to know what the hell I am on about and send your taste buds on a magic carpet ride to a whole new world, try the Chicken Kadai and the Tandoori Sizzler because they are bloody incredible. The Lamb Shank, Lamb Rogan Josh and the Goat Curry won't disapoint either. Thank you Chef Roshan, please...
Read moreHi All, How do you say you love someone elses food that you want to marry them, so you can eat it every day. The food is addictive. So additive that I order it every five days. And it is only every five days because that is when I run out of left overs which are just as good as the first time. The food is fresh, large pieces of chicken or lamb. I can recommend: Chicken Korma Lamp Madras Malai Tikka Rogan Josh Chicken, Panner 65 (this one surprised me, I got the dry one, and wow, really great)
These are also really nice people, who are clearly a family business trying to do the best by their customers.
Aside from this review. I want to say thank you to Bay Leaf. This review is from the annoying customer, Matt, number ending in 6918. I...
