Gnocchi Gnocchi Brothers, Southport — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Ordered via Menulog, review left there as follows:

Food was delivered early and piping hot, with generous serves for price. Unfortunately that's where our good review ends. For spending close to $100 we are all round disappointed with the quality of the food, and won't be trying this restaurant again.

The gnocchi was not at all light and fluffy, but dense, chewy and doughy, sticking to teeth and leaving a chalky texture in the mouth. We had 6 bowls of 5 different flavours, and the texture was consistently bad across all of them.

The bolognese sauce has a processed baby food flavour, like the frozen single serves available at my school canteen 20 years ago. There is an overwhelming flavour of pureed carrot and the mince is inexplicably grainy.

The pork and fennel sauce had an unidentifiable, almost rancid flavour. It genuinely tastes like the pork sausage is on the verge of turning. The dish is also swimming in oil.

Both the Barramundi and Wild Mushroom sauces were pleasant enough, however they were also swimming in oil, with a visible pool around the edges and on top.

Finally, the cherry tomato and olive was fresh and well balanced, but disappointingly NOT spicy, and ruined by the chewy, claggy gnocchi.

I don't mean to sound like Gordon Ramsay, but I have genuinely had better gnocchi come out of supermarket packets. An extremely disappointing experience all round, no one ate more than a few bites and more than half the food ended...

The food is good the service however is HORRENDOUS. First off we got there and they didn’t give us cups or forks and put our very large party at a very small table. We didn’t get our drink orders taken until we ordered food. We got the appetizers decently fast but then when we finished them they never came and cleared the plates for the entirety of our dinner and so the table was extremely crowded the entire time. The waitress didn’t understand our request for an extra side of the salad dressing, and brought just balsamic dressing. We couldn’t even get enough forks to eat with and were given spoons instead of forks, and told that they were waiting on dishes to be cleaned to get more forks. we were not checked on even once. this place is advertised as fast casual but the food is not fast nor casual and they need more waitresses and better training. it’s a sit down restaurant, not fast casual. I would only recommend this place...

dining here (southport branch) made me feel like it's a totally different restaurant compared to the one in southbank which i had been to many times. the waitress appeared to be new so that could be why. I walked in - saw the menu and sat down. ordered barramundi gnocchi. weirdly the barramundi wasn't infused in the sauce - maybe that had changed - but there were only a handful of pieces. that's not really the issue here. when I went to pay for it, I was charged 24.90 even though the menu on the counter said 17.90. the 17.90 is for takeaway menu - I couldn't really remember the prices because it had been a while but $7 difference! new waitress didn't give me the dine in menu with the actual price when i sat down and she came to the table to take my order. anyway after I paid I also then realised that I wasn't given the complimentary bread to mop up the sauce (either this has changed or it's the...
