UPDATE: Subsequent to this review we have had 4 disappointing experiences in a row with this branch. They were about product and some added remarks on hygiene. End result, we now go to McDonalds for our weekly 'breakfast on the run'. It's only $20 a week for us but that is over $1000 per year and if they are losing loyal customers like they lost us, that can make a considerable difference to their bottom line. As matters are getting worse it is clear the manger and/or owners do not care less and head office is allowing it to continue. Goodbye Hungry Jacks Labrador, it was good while it lasted. RIP
Takeaway Breakfast this morning. My normal experience here is 5 star. BUT, today I have issues. A minor one is that the food was only just warm. But more serious was the mandatory masks situation. In the 8 minutes I was at the takeaway there were 2 other customers already there (1 without a mask) and 3 more came in all without masks. AND, they all got served. But the most disappointing thing was the young lady making the coffees who had her masked pulled down under chin the entire time! I saw what may have been the manager walking around but nothing was said to the non-mask wearing customers or the staff member. All other staff members were wearing masks (well done to those). There were signs all over the place stating MASKS MUST BE WORN. We have just had a severe warning after covid infected people visited a number of locations on the Gold Coast and the government asked us to wear masks in places such as Hungry Jacks instead of doing a lock-down. But here is an instance where I was in such a place for 8 mins and in that time only 50% of us were wearing masks and my coffees were exposed to a non-masked barista! Whilst Hungry Jacks are not responsible for what their customers do, they can certainly enforce the law and not serve those without masks and the manager on duty could (and should) instruct his team member to follow the guidelines! Hence the 3...
Read moreSadly, another not so good review. for my local Hungry Jacks. A few days ago I was in for my brekky wrap and coffee to wander to the park and enjoy my snack. The wrap had an unfamiliar taste to it but I couldn't identify in what ingredient. For the first time I didn't finish the wrap that I normally enjoy. Also, while waiting in drive thru I saw the barista fill the portafilter with the ground beans and then wipe off the excess with his palm - NO GLOVES. But, he was wearing a mask! I decided to let that one go until my latest experience this morning. Remembering the strange taste of the last wrap and an unexpected toilet stop, I decided on a simple Bacon & Egg muffin. The store was very busy and it is the longest wait I have experienced so far. But that is acceptable. What is not acceptable was to find that when I reached the park and opened my muffin, I found it was on a burger bun! Soft and gooey mess. In addition to that, it is worth noting that the gardens had many weeds and normally well pruned shrubs were growing wild. So, my last 3 visits have resulted in an unacceptable issue each time. Given the issues, the hygiene practices, the lack of preparedness for a busy morning (possibly due to the regular monthly open market across the road) and the appearance of the place, I would say this could all point to a change of management. Shame, I enjoyed my wraps once a week. FOOTNOTE: I do not see Hungry Jacks responses to reviews here so it may well be they do not even know what is being...
Read moreIt was the worst ever will never go back. Order my food and the staff repeat the order back, thought all was good. I waited 28 minutes. Got to window to pay and he is going to charge me the wrong amount and because I had my card ready to pay it went through. So now Im asking him why is my order to so much. Instead of 4 meals now I have 5 and it wasn't even ordered by me. Now I have been waiting 36 minutes in line he is trying to refund the money for me he was trying I felt sorry for him it was really busy. He goes to me I will get the manager to help. Now the manager came to the window and goes what is wrong now I thought wow no hello no nothing and no smile at all. I explained what had happen and she walked off. So now I have to move to second window for my order time is now 40 minutes and guess what order is so wrong it's a joke. I was getting 5 meals again instead of 4. I said to the girl I didn't order this we just fixed it up at the paying window. Her comment was you are getting a meal for free. The meal I didn't order. By now I'm thinking I'm never coming back. The meals were cold and really not eatable. Hungry Jack's never again. I have email them and...
