Hungry Jack's Burgers Mermaid Waters — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Just called in to get my daughter and myself a burger each and a Fanta for my daughter. At the drive thru window I asked for “A chicken Royale and a fanta”. She said “Anything else?” I said “A tendercrisp cheese and bacon burger”. She said “Just the burger?” And I said yes. Got to the pay window, it was $18.20. My daughter said “Wow your burger was expensive” and I said “Must’ve been your Fanta”. We were asked to wait in the waiting Bay. When our food was delivered it was just a bag of food so I asked if the drink was coming. The lady went inside to check. I checked in our bag and there were three burgers so I realised something had gone awry but was happy to sort it out. However the lady came back out to the car and said “No, she said that’s what you ordered. You didn’t order a drink”. Which I refuted and my daughter backed me up. So the lady that took my order came out to my car and immediately said “You did not order a drink. You ordered three burgers and that’s what all the other staff heard. But I’ll give you a Fanta for free.” She was very rude and immediately accusing me of lying. But why would I order a $6.70 burger when I actually wanted a cheaper drink? They’ve not given me anything for free, they’ve charged me for a burger I didn’t want. Not once did she try and nicely sort it out. I am the sort of person that always accepts mistakes are made, happy to say maybe I mumbled and they didn’t hear me properly. But I was immediately attacked as though I was trying to rip them off. I have never been treated that way before. I told her I’m normally quite calm and don’t get annoyed but she was rude and I was leaving. To which she said as she walked off “And don’t come back”. Wow Hungry Jacks. I am gobsmacked that you have staff with that attitude. I actually would’ve paid for the burger and the Fanta and written it off as a mistake but to be made to feel as though I’m someone who caused the trouble when it was the staff, I can’t believe it. First bad review I’ve ever written for anyone in my 40+ years. And don’t worry, I wouldn’t go back there if...

Now, normally, I don't rate these places too harshly.........but we only come to this one because no others are convenient. Time after time, this store is slow, disorganised, and an absolute bomb site. Half the managers are ignorant and show no signs of understanding customer service, and the junior staff have zero life skills apart from mouth breathing.

On the afternoon of the 18/08/24, takeaway. This store has won the worst service and worst burgers (most of the buns were burnt from toasting too long). We had 3 attempts at our drinks...... just 4 medium cokes..... on the 3rd attempt, the manager finally turned around and acknowledged that the drink machine had not been working and offered us frozen drinks. Why not do this in the first place. Why let the drinks go out and why let other people's drinks go out like this? We watch other people come out of drive through and walk in with their drinks.

Now, let's cover store cleanliness. Sunday early afternoons are when we use this store after work. This is everything. Chips everywhere( bench and floor), pre made drinks litter the prep area with liquid spilt, and it just goes on.

I don't like going full Karen, but someone from upper franchise management needs to do stop checks and fix...

Not one to post negative reviews but this hungry jacks branch has topped my list of worst experiences ever.

Ordered two double roadhouse whoppers. Waited 15mins. Super busy I get it. Order came, one double whopper without bacon…another single whopper with bacon.

Waited another 10 mins in line to get order changed.

Second order came, two double whoppers without bacon. Not even roadhouse whopper, and we paid $20 meal per each.

Didn’t bother exchanging it again at this point as restaurant were just in a mess. 10-20 customers waiting at the front counter, orders all over the place. Staff including restaurant manager didn’t bother turning around to serve anyone, all three staff members at front just waited by the burger collection point from the kitchen, what for? And another staff member just causally shouted “I don’t wanna be here omg” to her colleague in front of customers.

Pretty unprofessional. Just a whole chuck of mess.

Hungry jacks usually decent but this particular chain definitely gave a negative experience. Hope the chain manager listens and...
