I eat here at least once a week. Being a life long Thai food enthusiast I can without hesitation announce that this is some of best Thai food I have ever had the pleasure of stuffing into my face for the following reasons:
• The red curry is exceptional. • The pad thai is off the charts. •The portions are huge -- nearly double the size of other Thai places. Since I'm fat, this keeps me coming back for more. • The food is flavourful and really fresh. • The staff are excellent, accomodating, and fast. • The place itself isn't big, but you can see it is well maintained and clean.
My favourite dish is the Pad Thai. I've eaten pad Thai from many places and this is my second favourite I have ever had. My all time favourite was made by my good friend who was a chef for royalty back in Thailand, a "palace chef" as he described himself.
If you order the chicken pad Thai it comes with prawns, too. Eggs come in it, but I like eggs in my pad Thai. All the ingredients are super fresh and so tasty. And the portion is gigantic.
The red curry is so tasty. They have a good selection of curries and other dishes that are in a steam table ready to serve. Everything in the steam table always looks super fresh as if they just made it and put it in, I don't know how they do that. If you want a quick and satisfying lunch you can walk in and have your curry ready in about 2 minutes if it's not busy.
The prices are fair, considering the amount they give you. An order of pad Thai is $12.95 and, as I've stated, the amount you get can feed yourself and 6 small children. Compare this to the place across the street, Mr. Pad Thai, where the pad Thai costs about a dollar more for about half the amount-- and it isn't near as good, in my opinion.
The consistency of the food adds to the charm of the experience. The food is always basically the same, but it's never exactly the same way twice, which I like. For example, Sometimes you get a lemon slice in your pad Thai, sometimes a lime. Once I got an orange slice!? These little details remind me that someone is actually taking time to prepare the dish fresh instead of some pre-fab crap that microwaved or mass manufactured.
This place is gem and you don't want to miss out...
Read moreThis has to be the worst food ever. $40 of absolute mush. The waitress told me to bring my own bag and did I want to order from kitchen and I paid extra. The lid was obviously not on the green chicken curry and every other thai takeaway always puts glad wrap around curry. She placed it in the bag and my daughter came home with clearly the lid was not on securely and the sauce was in the bottom of the bag. Since when does green chicken curry have big chunks of pumpkin and cabbage. The stir fried tofu and vegetables in oyster sauce is also like soup and uneatable. DO NOT GO THERE.The women.on the phone was so rude when I called back to let her know. She hung up the phone as I was...
Read moreAn overall really bad experience. A few years ago I remember them being really friendly, however now the counter staff are extremely rude. When ordering a curry, most of the entire tub was rice. The woman also stopped in the middle of making up my food to randomly clean the counter which I found really bizarre. She didn’t really look or talk to me at all. About 5 hours after eating my meal, I came down with food poisoning - I’m not saying it was this place or their food, all I know is that the only thing I had eaten that entire day was the curry at night and was fine prior to this. The store is also quite run down with sparse seating....
