We have had take away fro the Kampung Mudgeeraba fairly often. It's generally good but does vary, sadly tonight effort was awful. Was on hold for a long while, then they answered and asked me to hold again. Garlic Calamari was slightly over cooked but had no flavour. The Beef Randang was totally bland. The Kung Po chicken turned out to be sweet and sour chicken but more accurately described as chicken in a sweet and sour sauce with a few odd chunks of pineapple tossed in (and nothing else) The Roti and rice were good - bit hard to mess them up. I almost hung up whilst on hold; was googling alternatives, then they answered. I'll vote with my feet next time. All up this was akin to the "Chinese" we got in the 1970's, something that should remain in the past. A classic case of quality suffering because of popularity.
OK I see you did not understand what I posted.
Food was nice. However, the service could be improved. One of the waitress was rude (made face and "tsk"-noice couple of times). We (group of 11) walked in to the restaurant and the staff made the table ready for us. While waiting, we read the menu and unfortunately one family (4 people) decided not to eat in the restaurant due to their diet restrictions. I informed the waitress and (I guess) she misheard me and thought that none of us is going to eat there. She made a face and "tsk"-voice then began to re-organise the tables and chairs to it's original position. Then, I told her that we (7 people) are still going to eat here. She made a face AGAIN and "tsk"- voice AGAIN and asked "just tell me how many people are eating?" in a very rude tone.
It was still 5.30PM, the restaurant just opened. I don't know why we deserved such nasty treatment. Maybe she is in her period or just broke up with her boyfriend. But that kind of attitude was no-where near customer service 101 booklet!
The other staff were quite...
Read moreWe used to love Kampung Malay in Mudgeeraba but the food quality has declined badly. It no longer tastes fresh and our sweet and sour dishes consisted of either over cooked meat or reheated meat as they were so dry and hard to chew. The rice was bland and horrible. After years of buying their food, we will never buy from them again. So disappointing. REVISED: It is even more disappointing that this restaurant cannot accept negative criticism nor accept that their food fell very short of fresh. I have been giving this restaurant chance after chance after chance ALL year only to receive abrasive responses from the owner twice. If our sweet and sour dishes were not reheated then your cook overcooked our meals to the point that both meats were shrivelled, dry and very chewy. Our fried rice had no flavour and the entrees lacked life. This was OUR experience and your opinion of what our food was like is not acceptable as you weren't the...
