Shahi Dawat — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

I would like to share my recent experience at a restaurant that left a lot to be desired. The service provided by the server named Vikram was extremely disappointing and fell far below my expectations.

Firstly, despite our repeated attempts to call for assistance, no one seemed interested in attending to our needs. It was disheartening to see the lack of responsiveness from the staff, which made us feel ignored and undervalued as customers.

To make matters worse, another server, a lady whose name I unfortunately do not know, exhibited rude behavior. She seemed to be doing us a favor by serving the food, and even went as far as throwing the plates on the table with a disrespectful attitude.

While I must admit that the food itself was of good quality, the overall dining experience was heavily overshadowed by the extremely poor and rude service we received. It is important for a restaurant to understand that good food alone is not enough to ensure customer satisfaction. The service provided should also be of the highest standard.

Considering the lack of interest and rudeness demonstrated by both Vikram and the unnamed lady server, I cannot recommend this restaurant to others. It is crucial for establishments to prioritize customer service and treat their patrons with respect and professionalism. Unfortunately, this was not the case...

Great service and good flavoursome food UNTIL we found FOUR coarse white hairs in all our five meals! DISGUSTING and UNPLEASANT!!! When we pointed this out to the waitress, she consulted the chef/owner and was told that this was from the lamb vindoloo dish! I've eaten lots of Indian lamb dishes and have never encountered this! The waitress then said it was from the goat curry we ordered and assured us that this was quite NORMAL 🥺 $180 later... we were NOT offered any compensation or an apology.... we paid our bill... but SHAME SHAME SHAME on you for thinking that it's OK to serve food with 2 inch hair in our food ... we found FOUR.. YUCK YUCK YUCK! WE WILL NEVER EVER patronise that restaurant in our lives! Such a shame as its our local and have heard good reviews....BE WARNED future customers! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I have dined at many Indian restaurants... and this one is definitely a NO GO EVER AGAIN VERY VERY...

We ordered sweet and mango lassi and samosa chat .The lassi was not bad but the chat was terrible.They just smashed 1 samosa and poured some yougurt with onion and tomatoes thats it there was no spices nothing.We told the waitress that we didn’t like it as it was no close to samosa chat, later the chief came to us and argued why we didn’t like it .He insulted us infront of the other customers and people walking on the street as we were sitting outside.
