We stopped for lunch passing through for a 2nd time to try this place out. Almond latte was 4/5 for perfect presentation, silky frothed milk. However, their coffee grind tasted a little course (meaning to the weaker, sour side as opposed to finer. A minor adjustment made on coffee grinders). We had the vegetarian board, and the chicken board with the cucumber, chilli, with salad and sweet potato fries. Both were presented very well. The salad broke up the other elements. The cauliflower was cooked nicely and tasted good just as the sweet potatoes fries. Unfortunately, while the chicken was cooked nicely and tender on the inside and crispy coating, it lacked any flavour in the chicken and the crumb. Overall, the atmosphere is nice, situated amongst other venues, they had music playing and friendly customer service. Both the food and drinks this time around were ok, so a 3.9 out of 5 is fair.

Came in after the breakfast rush for some lunch on a Sunday. It was clean, had a nice atmosphere. Staff didn’t greet or do much except take your order at the counter and serve. I wish I could make a nice review on this place as I had high hopes because of the reputation online but unfortunately that’s not the reality. My partner and I waited 1 hour 15 minutes for 2 onion burgers. After the hour and 15, 1 came out but not the other, 15 minutes go by and I ask a staff member about the other burger. They came out with the other burger shortly after. It was definitely odd that two of the same order came out almost 20 mins apart. Anyway. The burger is bland, unseasoned burnt patty covered in cheese and onion to mask the taste of the brittle and flavourless patty. The burger over all was just flavourless and a major let down. A McDonalds hamburger tasted better than the $20 burger from this cafe.

Whenever I am in Queensland I tend to visit Social Brew as it has a few great things going for it, amazing atmosphere, super fast service, reasonable prices and a large space which means you can go in big groups (we had around 12). Whether you interpret this as a plus or not you pay at the counter which worked for us given that splitting the bill with so many people would have been a nightmare. Where it doesn’t do so well is good quality and generosity of portions but it’s by no means awful. Just average (certainly not melbourne standards). On this occasion I had smashed avo which came on one tiny piece of toast. Maybe that’s their way of encouraging you to buy a sweet treat. The raw bounty cake was certainly healthy tasting. The Nutella cheesecake was more my style. Make sure you pick out all your cakes at the initial outset though as you don’t want to stand in the lengthy line twice

Extremely unpleasant experience. I ordered an iced matcha with almond milk, but what I received was far from acceptable. Firstly, the matcha was poorly prepared—lumpy and inconsistent, making it clear that the staff lacked the proper training to make this beverage. Instead of a smooth, enjoyable drink, it felt like I was sipping milk with chunks of tea powder. More concerning, however, was the issue with the milk. After taking my first sip, I immediately noticed that the drink tasted like it had been made with regular cow’s milk, not almond milk as I had ordered. I asked the waitress to double-check, and instead of verifying the actual milk used, she checked the order docket and reassured me it was almond milk. Trusting her word, I drank the matcha, only to suffer a severe stomachache for the rest of the day due to my sensitivity to dairy. This was not only uncomfortable and distressing but entirely avoidable with a bit more care and attention to detail from your staff. I strongly urge your team to provide proper training on both the preparation of matcha and the handling of dietary requests. Cafes offering specialty drinks like matcha should understand the importance of getting it right—not only for taste but also for customer health and safety. I hope you take this feedback seriously and take steps to improve your service and staff training. What should have been a simple, enjoyable drink turned into an expensive and...

I am currently sitting in this very busy cafe, drinking an average coffee, watching large numbers of people drink from little plastic cups that the cafe will soon throw away. This cafe, simply due to laziness, gives hundreds of plastic cups away to patrons for water every day, and then just throws them away. Oh, did I mention this cafe is 500meters ish from the Burleigh beach. Plastic destroys our oceans and Australia is working hard to ban plastic products. In fact, single use plastic supply has been banned but it seems Social Brew and Burleigh dont care. Recent research highlighted plastic survives in our oceans without decomposing for more than 120 years. I did ask the waitress behind the counter to provide me a glass and not plastic. This so annoyed her. She was close to anger. What saddens me the most, is that this cafe is full of Burleigh locals. And not a single one of them seems to care. I will never come here again, but as a very appalled local, I will continue to try and raise awareness of this issue to stop places like Social from treating our planet wth complete disdain. I frequent many places in Burleigh and many do care. Let's...

This a very vibrant, fast, fun, friendly place to eat and drink. Located in a great location on James street, the choices on offer for food and drinks is incredible. There is a display with muffins and toasties, or you can order of an extensive menu. Be hungry if you do as the serving sizes are substantial. I order a Hydration Juice which was freshly made and exceptionally good. I chose to make up my own breakfast from a selection of sides and was not disappointed. Well cooked tasty bacon, chewy bread and a huge pile of avocado. The flat white coffee was good although the large I ordered was not strong enough. The latte my friend ordered, I was advised, was good and strong. The service was fast and friendly and both times I went over a period of 3 day, the place was heaving with young and old alike, both during the week and on the weekend. You can book and I would suggest doing that on the weekend, and even though we didn’t, we did not have to wait long for a table – although it was not the best as it was right at the front and I unfortunately scored the exposed corner sea where all the food and drinks passed sometimes...
