Instagram vs reality. They’ve done a great job with the embellishment of this place. We booked a table with a deal that was $99 per head for a 5 course meal for Valentine’s Day. The meal ended up costing $279 They assumed that we wanted a wine with every course, this wasn’t discussed or ordered. The meal came with a glass of bubbly to start, which was fine. A glass of wine then arrived with the first course and I said “no more alcohol” no more came but we were still charged. The food…. What food?? The first round came out and it was literally a single cracker with a tiny piece of meat. My wife had 3 oysters and a bunch of river stones (you obviously can’t eat river stones) Carpaccio was the 2nd plate, this was nice and looked great. We waited an unbelievable amount of time between courses and ended up giving up on our experience to leave with takeaway meal instead. We left the restaurant to find somewhere else to eat. Should I even mention the bathroom in this establishment? For a restaurant to be charging $279 for two people, you’d expect the toilets to be of good standard. The whole experience was very disappointing and I wouldn’t recommend this place but I will talk about it a lot.

We came here on a Tuesday night and had the steak deal—$25 with chips— so juicy. We also had the yellowfin tuna, which was an easy 8.5/10. It had a perfect balance of salt and capers that complemented the freshness of the raw fish beautifully. The halloumi with blueberry compote? 10/10. Next. Level. The meze platter was definitely a must-have for our table of 3 and the roasted garlic was a simple but delicious touch! Chefs kiss. Cocktails were another highlight. I wasn’t sure what to order, so I asked the team to surprise me with something sweet, vodka or tequila-based, and pretty. The bar staff nailed it! Customised service too? Love. And finally, dessert. The manager, Joe, recommended the apple strudel pie with vanilla bean ice cream and a brown sugar drizzle, and honestly? 100/10. If I could’ve eaten the entire thing myself, I would have. Will be back.

Despite seeing so many average reviews I thought we would try Maman out because it looks so nice. So we had dinner here and the decor is just stunning. The staff were so friendly and down to earth. But unfortunately the food was just average. Now I understand what people were writing about, and it’s so unfortunate! I would definitely return for a pre-dinner drink, and have dinner elsewhere. The drinks were great. There was just a lack of flavour in the food (no I d didn’t have covid 🤣). It seemed as if the chef themself didn’t design the menu, so didn’t fully understand how each dish should taste. It seemed as if they were following a guide, but couldn’t follow through with delivering a delicious meal. Let down for such a nice place with great service.

Went to Maman for dinner, went home with wine and McDonald’s. Booked a 7:30pm dinner at Maman with seven girlfriends, excited for a lovely evening. We were seated and half an hour later, we had to flag someone down just to order drinks. Another 20 minutes passed before we asked if we could finally place our food order, where we ordered the feed me menu, (which now feels like a cruel joke)

Eventually, the dips and bread arrived: one solitary piece of bread per person. Think communion, but chic. Not wanting to ruin our appetites, we didn’t ask for more.

Fast-forward to 2 hours in, still no mains. One of us asked the waitress when dinner might actually make an appearance — she returned instead with the EFTPOS machine. They charged us nearly $300 for dips, two bottles of wine, and kindly offered a complimentary bottle for the trouble. When we asked about the main, she said she thought we wanted to cancel the rest of the order…

It was now 10pm. We’d been there two and a half hours and eaten one piece of bread. We asked for a refund — because honestly, $300 for snacks and sips was wild. To their credit, the waitress and manager were very understanding and refunded us. They even gave us two more complimentary bottles of wine for the inconvenience.

So, there we were: 7 girls, 5 bottles of wine deep, bellies lined with only one piece of pane di casa from Woolies each, ready for a night out on the town and a trip to maccas for our dinner at the end of the night. Pleased to say the chicks were ON!

1 star for service 0 stars for food because.. didn’t get any 5 stars for entertainment 5 stars for wine, and lots of it 0 stars for the headache and belly ache the...

I recently came in and it was one of the worst dining experiences on the coast I’ve had. From the start we had to wait 20 minutes to be given any water. We had 2 vegetarians and the waitress said they probably couldn't accommodate them as we hadn’t listed the dietaries on the booking. I understand I should have and that was my mistake, but the waitress was rude and disinterested in trying to help resolve the issue (which was finally thankfully sorted). They mentioned all their food was pre cooked and this is why they couldn’t accommodate it.

After that it was very hard to get anyone’s attention to place any orders and it seemed like we were an inconvenience/annoyance. Only once did a man come over and ask us if we wanted drinks.

On top of that there wasn’t nearly enough food served - we had to have the ‘feed me’ option as we were a large party and everyone went home hungry.

We were not told the kitchen was closing or offered desserts. I wanted to get something for my partner as it was her birthday. I went up to the counter and asked if they could do something and he said he would. The waitress then asked which one was the birthday girl so she knew who to serve it to. I waited 20 minutes - nothing happened so I went to the counter to pay the bill and the waitress then told me the kitchen was closed.

The bill was almost $1500 and it was some of the worst service we’ve had on all of the Gold Coast and we left still hungry and disappointed. I reached out to them via email afterwards but they didn’t even dignify me with a response so I thought I would warn others.

Save yourself the trouble and goto any other restaurant that actually cares about...

It was a community event on tonight and busy and me and my baby went to sit down at this place. I sat at the table and was served by a lovely waiter at the start. He got a cocktail and chips for me and my little one. Then the manager swooped it and accused me of not booking. He then moved me and my baby outside - apparently because that table was booked - however when I sat down and ordered food no one kicked me out only the manager after I have already ordered at the first table - outside he didn’t give us new menu or the water that was on the first table. The cocktail that was made tasted like water - when I asked for the cocktail to be re made he said ok but then came back outside yelled at me and told me to get out of his restaurant because I apparently lied to him about a table booking and that he tasted the cocktail himself and it tasted like it should have! He said “you need to leave MY restaurant because the cocktail tastes like it should be” - ppl please please don’t ever go to this place. This man discriminated against me and my family, this is violence against women and children if you speak up about the quality of food or drinks - never in my entire life have I ever experienced this type of intimidation, bullying from a manager in a restaurant. It’s a shame because the other staff were actually nice and he totally ruined his own business. If you go to this place you will be supporting HIS restaurant and this type of behaviour towards a...
