Dear Govinda’s Management,
I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the customer service experience I encountered during my visit to Govinda’s earlier this evening, at precisely 7:55 PM on September 3rd.
It was my first time dining at your establishment, and I was genuinely excited to try the food, given the reverence associated with the name Govinda’s. However, my experience was marred by a series of unfortunate events that left a lasting negative impression.
Upon arriving, I joined the queue, patiently waiting to place my order. To my dismay, despite my wait, no staff member showed any inclination to serve us. Eventually, I approached a young lady who appeared new to the restaurant and asked if I could place my order with her. She, in turn, directed me to another girl, stating that she handled orders. My attempt to order with this second girl was met with a response that she was occupied “filling at the moment” and, once again, I was directed elsewhere.
At this point, I felt not only frustrated but also discriminated against. The new girl I had initially approached offered to serve me despite the end of her shift, displaying a level of customer dedication that was admirable. However, it was the actions of the other girl, who was seemingly uninterested in assisting us, that truly disappointed me. Her refusal to even acknowledge our presence, let alone greet us or take our order, left me feeling as if I was being treated unfairly.
Furthermore, my suspicion grew that she may have been discriminatory in her actions, as she actively served other customers while we were left ignored. The culmination of this disappointing experience was when I requested a mango lassi, only to be told that the drinks had already been closed, and I should consider ordering from the drinks in the fridge. This, in my opinion, is not an acceptable way to treat a paying customer.
I am disheartened to say that I left Govinda’s tonight with a sense of frustration and disappointment, vowing not to return if such poor customer service continues to prevail. I genuinely hope that you take this feedback seriously and consider measures to improve the service quality at your restaurant.
Customer experiences should reflect the values associated with the name Govinda’s, and I sincerely hope that future visits for myself and others will better align with those...
Read moreI would give it 5 stars but every time I have been here (5 or 6 times) it is so busy and there is only one person serving/ on till. When I was there 2 days ago we waited so long to be served. Then as we were sitting down the line kept getting longer and longer. One lady screamed out 'this is ridiculous, only one person serving!' and walked out. Not ideal. Our friend wanted to get some kofta balls to take with him but we couldn't be bothered lining up again. Honestly, you will lose business.. and I feel sorry for the poor girl who was taking orders, serving the food, taking payment for the food AND putting the new food in. MANAGEMENT - take care of your staff! Put 2 people on - 1 on serving, 1 on the till. Love the food but might try one of the other franchises that doesn't have the line overcrowding the...
Read moreAlmost every time I dine here I can only give praise and recommendations. Unfortunately not this visit. Whilst the server was happy smiling and interactive, our instore 4 dish supreme with, pakoras, drink and dessert for $24 was served like prison food. Just slopped willy nilly over the plate. No thought for plate up presentation or dish companion placing. Plus hot food was just above room temperature. All dishes were just slopped on plate, with hot meals on top of salad meals, and dishes to be eaten with say, rice, were on opposite sides of plate and under other dishes. Plus for the first time the bay maree was half empty, Leaving less choice to what historically is amazing alternative vegetarian and vegan food. I will be back because of past good experiences, unfortunately was...
