We came here last weekend for mothers day. And I have to say what a shambles it was....Yes they were under the pump it was very busy and it looked like there was only two people in the kitchen for some reason trying to pump out all that food. We knew it would be busy but the lady taking orders never mentioned it would be a long wait, if we knew we would still be fine with it. Just a heads up would of been nice. We waited 50 mins for our food to arrive, it was cold and also mixed up. One ordered and extra egg and got it, but the bacon was missing from the plate, another on our table got an egg added when she didnt order it. We pre-booked our table in advance for the 6 of us and they had it there waiting for us, but had left 2 different table numbers on our table. Big error on their part and it ended up making things worse for themselves. It cause massive confusion with the ordering which neither party picked up on until later. Once we told them thats not our food or not our drinks for the 4th time they still didnt figure it out or have someone come over and rectify the situation so things were right later on. One girl said it is all sorted your food is coming soon, then another said she thinks they forgot about our food. well which is it? Then it arrived 2 mins later after asking, impossible they forgot it and cooked it all that quick. The teenage girls working there don't really know whats going on. They bring food over and just stand there like a deer in headlights, when we ask what dish it is they have no answer they are not sure what it is and just start guessing names of the dish. They never once brought over some water for the table in the nearly 2 hours we were there. Just was unorganised and a little disappointing mainly service wise. But then again the chefs left or added the wrong food. Wont be back....
Read moreWe had been looking forward to visiting for breakfast given the huge number of positive reviews.
After visiting, we are confused as to why they have this rating as we were quite frankly very underwhelmed.
The ambiance was average (which was expected given their location on a busy highway).
The service was average (nothing bad except trying to clear plates while we were literally still eating, but nothing good to justify the rating).
The food was mixed. The mince dish was tasty. The stones breakfast on the other hand was awful. The bacon was good, but the “hash” was just mashed potato that had been thrown on the grill. No flavour or texture. The mushrooms were stringy and although “braised” it wasn’t an enjoyable flavour, the eggs were ordered to be cooked hard. They were ordered fried as it can be difficult to poach hard. When they came out they were cooked over easy (flipped but still completely runny). Assuming it was either a miscommunication or an accidental undercooking we asked if they would mind putting the egg back on the grill so the yolk was cooked through. The waitress was happy to oblige and came back a few minutes later with the egg that had been thrown back on the grill, but when it was cut into again it was still 90% runny. At that point the other meal was half eaten so couldn’t be bothered sending it back again.
As a result my wife ate less than half her breakfast (I ate the other half and can confirm it was average at best).
This felt like the kind of breakfast you’d get from a RSL or Bowls Club for $6/head. Not almost $30/head. Actually there you probably would have got your eggs right the second time.
Maybe we had a one-off bad experience, but we won’t be back to risk it again.
It was a 2 star experience at best, the mince dish brought it...
