Sushi & Tempura — Restaurant in Gold Coast City

Normally I would come here every day as I have been for the past year. It has fairly priced sushi and okay meals for around $14. After what happened today though I am not sure if I will be back. I grabbed a salmon and a avacado roll as I normally do and noted a funny taste while eating one. I had another to confirm my suspicions and realised that the food wasn't good. I informed the waiter who just looked at me funny and then said it was fine. I then asked another waiter who said the food was 'freshly made today' . I felt like I was going crazy but the staff persisted that if it was made today it couldn't have been off despite the plastic smell and hard taste it had (as rotten salmon sushi has). Regardless I had to pay in full and am very disappointed.

Update: I would normally rate poor quality food in a average setting a 3 star but the continued denial of the rotten food just easily sets...

This joint is an absolute joke. We’ve been a loyal customer for more than 5 years. Even though we always happy to support a local business, this place is crossed out from our list now! Today is the last day of my family and I ever visiting this.

Long story short, my family and I had lunch and stayed in Varsity. Two hours later, on the way back to our car, our seven-year-old kid asked to visit a bathroom. My wife passing by this joint asked for the bathroom keys, and got rejected by an Asian lady telling her to go and find a bathroom elsewhere. What a joke hey?

Teach your staff that in Australia this inhumane behaviour is against our values and believes! The kid just needed to hit the bathroom for 2 minutes!

The reason for only 3 star is the amount of plastic that is used. We dined in but our food was served to us in plastic containers as well as the seperate sushi plates. At the end of the meal we had all the plates and all the plastic containers. Every business needs to do more in combating plastic waste. The food was really good and came out quick once ordered, but we would 100% not return because of the plastic waste. Service was a bit strange. Not very friendly or attentive. We were the only people in the restaurant and still had to go look for someone to take our order. Please do better and...
