Can not & will not recommend the Palm Beach store. Purchased $100 worth of fish n chips on Good Friday for dinner. They were understandably busy & the wait time was 1hr 15mins. Our order included 10 X Fish Bites as well as family chips, 2 pieces of Cod, 6 potato scallops & 3 serves of calamari. When we came to serving out our dinner we discovered that they substituted the fish bites for tiny pieces of seafood sticks. I have a crustacean allergy so that angered & upset me. I drove back to the store & asked the staff if they could tell me what this was showing them the tiny bits in my tray. The female staff member confidently said they are fish bites. I asked her again was she sure they were fish bites & she said yes they were. I then questioned the size of them & was told that they were running low so they were smaller than normal . I then asked since when do fish bites have orange backs. She tried to convince me that they do & that’s when I told her that I’m sure they were crab sticks/seafood sticks. After blatantly lying to me on 3 occasions she finally said that they knowingly submitted the fish bites that we ordered & paid for with the cut up seafood sticks. By this stage I was visibly shaken & upset that they would purposely substitute an item without asking the customer if that was ok. I told her that was she did was dangerous & that she was playing with peoples lives. She really didn’t seem to care how wrong it was on so many levels. She then asked me what I wanted & I told her I wanted what I paid for or a refund. Magical they were able to supply me with fish bites that apparently they didn’t have stock of. So another lie! I will never set foot in any of their...
Read moreEdit update: your staff member absolutely did NOT ask to smell the fish bites. She didnt even leave behind the counter!!! She said "yeah....um..... i can just see what they say out the back" , 2 mins later, "its flake- we opened this morning" i reassured her that its fine, i didnt want to cause any upset, but ammonia smelling fish means that its off. I know flake. I eat flake. But i dont eat eat fish thay tastes like poison. You need to look at the cameras and see that your staff member didnt offer an apology, refund or to "sniff my fish bites"!!! I wish she had asked that because it was absolutely awful. There was a lady behind me who could be witness to this. I will take this further.
Also, joking about mental health issues isnt appropriate coming from a business owner. I will be sharing this information.
Original review: Ordered fish bites today. My mum took a bite, spat it out and said it tasted like oven cleaner. I actually laughed and thought she was being dramatic, until i took a bite. There was something seriously wrong, it tasted toxic. There was no way i could have chewed it for another second and certainly wouldn't feed it to my 3 small kids. I felt it all in my sinuses, like ammonia. I order fish bites all the time and am a huge lover seafood, so i know what they are supposed to taste like. I mentioned it very kindly to the lady behind the counter who reeeeaaaaally didnt care. I was disappointed and left, and am...
Read moreDeciding to buy fish & chips from here has been the worst financial decision since investing in bitcoin in 2018. First of all, they got my name wrong… even though I spelt my 3 letter name out for them. There is no possible way that the food that is served here is justified by the cost. 4 crumbed Hoki that looked like they’d cooked them the day prior. We also asked for enough chips for 4 people, which in our opinion was not met and far too many slices of lemon for the amount of fish. The only positive of this meal was that the fish was from NZ. Overall I encourage all and one jahrastafari to not buy fish n chips from here as its quality is simply not up to stantard for the cost. Cheers aye Sol Somerville : Avid fish n...
