Staff were very welcoming and attentive. They knew when to check in, when we needed something and were very accommodating.
The food was very average. Food that anyone could make at home and a lot of the elements on the plate felt eh. For example, the barramundi was supposed to come with chorizo arancini but I received a potato rosti instead which was probably pre made and reheated. My partner asked for no tomato in his dish but received tomato. The menu is very big and random. Which to me is a huge red flag. Dishes ranged from seafood, to duck with peppercorn sauce, to pasta and then Asian inspired dishes. Too much going on. The aioli served with our fries was warm and tasted off. Was disgusting and I didn’t touch it as I felt like it would give me food poisoning. With the above said, the best thing about the food was the seafood. Although the chicken and other elements of the meal tasted odd (as if they hired year 11 hospitality students playing pretend chef), the seafood was so fresh and tasted great.
The actual venue itself is run down and gives “community centre vibes.” With scratched floors, old decoration, chairs you’d find in a conference room. They had an old couch in the middle of the restaurant which was weird and stored spare furniture/ speakers in the corner of the room in direct sight of the dining area. The ambiance of the restaurant is a huge let down.
This place has sooooo much potential. Paint it, add nice light features, sand the floors, renovate the outside area, add table covers, buy new chairs, replace paper menus on a clip board with hard cover menus, and please add aircon as it was 32 degrees in the restaurant with weak fans and no aircon.
Some renovations and menu tweaking would make this place amazing, especially with the FOH staff you have as they saved the day. The view is beautiful but hard to see as they have...
Read moreMy family and I were excited to eat at “The Jetty” on Bribie Island. We tried to book for an evening meal however they were fully booked (it must be amazing). By chance we were walking past at lunch time so we thought we could just ask if they had a free table. After a few minutes wait on the sofa we were thrilled to get an outside table - the view of the Jetty and water is stunning (5 star location) We were given menus on seating and the table had 2 water glasses (we were a party of 3). We chatted, took photos and took time to discuss the menu and finally decide on our choice. It was a really hot day & we were all thirsty (my mum is almost 80). Being accepted at the door we were happy to wait to order our food but when trying to catch waiters attention for water they didn’t see us on multiple try’s (it was a busy lunch time). We had to catch another area waitress who asked for water and then she told another and it was still further delayed. Finally our waitress arrived (without the water) and although a bit cold when we asked for water and a glass was nice after she warmed up. Our meals and wine were tasty so big thanks to the chef. The restaurant room itself is very plain and interesting to note that only one table inside had a white tablecloth. The toilets were a shambles (no soap in any of the containers to wash our hands, littered items on the floor and borderline unclean) for the price of this restaurant we expected a clean toilet. Even a kitchen member in a black jacket came in used the facility and tried to find soap for us all (she said it wasn’t nice to not have soap) however the cupboards were bare. Sadly we were mostly disappointed by the service on arrival (perhaps they don’t want to serve walk ins?) and the atmosphere hence the 2 stars. Food and location are...
Read moreWe went to the Jetty restaurant after hearing and reading great reviews. Unfortunately I can't comment on the food as we ended up leaving. There was only 2 of us. We were seated after we arrived and promptly our drink order was taken and served. I had a glass of wine and my partner, a beer. 15mins later we were ready to order so asked one of the waiting staff if someone could take our order now. We were told that one of the staff called CJ will come take the order. I watched for another 10 mins, CJ stand at the counter, not doing much. So again I asked another staff to take my order not realising that I was speaking to the manager (found out later). We were then told that there were a couple of other people before us that CJ will need to take their orders first. Ok, that was fine but CJ was still just standing at the counter doing nothing and sometimes serving the meals coming from the kitchen. So I asked another waiting staff again and this time I also asked why there are 5 staffs taking drink orders and only one taking the food order? I was told that's how it's done as they have a system and currently the kitchen is not coping so new meal orders are on hold till kitchen is ready. Now we hear the truth! Unbelievable for a restaurant of this standard. What happened to customer service... We paid for our drinks and spoke to the manager and left. The manager said nothing new but the same thing....this is the system that we use and sorry for your experience. Hmmmm....I guess people on Bribie haven't got much choice. I am a new resident and was looking forward to a good night out at a 'high' end restaurant. Prices are high but not the service to match. Not impressed with the attitude...
