(May 2022) I chose this place on a wet day as the dog-friendly outdoor seating provided good protection from the rain. I ordered eggs Benedict, called Benny and the Jets here, I think. The meal was beautifully presented and the eggs were poached to perfection, with just a drizzle of Hollandaise, rather than being smothered. My flat white was hot and full flavoured. Staff were friendly and the price was good - cash preferred, credit card surcharge.
(October 2022) Having thoroughly enjoyed my previous brunches at Annie Lane’s, I was keen to visit again during my recent stay on Bribie Island. This time, I chose poached eggs with a side of mushrooms, and I thought the meal was ok, but not exceptional.
What struck me most was the presentation. Usually a highlight at Annie’s, the plating this time left a lot to be desired, and a lot of empty plate.
Was I missing something? Should I have ordered another side or two?
The meal was pushed into the top of the plate, with a large amount of white space left empty.
The relish was scraped across the rim of the plate, like a leftover.
The slices of toast were, in my opinion, far too large for the two poached eggs, which were dwarfed on even one slice.
The coffee, on the other hand, was exactly as I enjoy it, and artistically...
Read moreWe are regular visitors (almost every week) to this establishment & have been for several years now. There have been a few changes during this time, some good, some may need some more thoughts. Just though that we should mention a few points after our last visit….a few times more recently when we have been served our coffee it has been spilt into the saucer underneath. We understand this can occur sometimes. Unfortunately it was the same person who served us each time recently when this happened. As part of good customer service this should be corrected & the customer should not receive their order in this condition. Also some kind of apology for the condition of the item would be suggested to be part of your staff training for good customer service relations. With the change in the tables, we suggest that when they get wet staff clear off the water from the chairs not just the table as visitors should not be expected to sit on wet seats…. Can I also suggest the exposed bolts in the concrete near the tables close to the road be cut off before someone has an injury from them, this may have been missed. We will be back but hope you can take this on as some helpful suggestions for the improvement of your business. Your feedback on our...
Read moreWe stopped in for breakfast 🧇 on Saturday we had the Big Boy & the chicken & bacon waffles the food was delicious drinks were okay 👍 I ordered the sticky chai because I felt rushed by the guy on register which I didn’t like that feeling & I wished I had ordered a juice or smoothie it was very busy & very hot inside due to the weather that day but the air con was on & all windows & doors were open which disappointed me as that was not a very eco friendly way cooling the cafe we ask for the fan to be turned on , & a waste of electricity I found that very bizzare. I also asked for use the bathroom & I was instructed to go use a public toilet in the park which was disgusting 🤮 especially as it was before I ate my food there. We did return on Sunday morning & grabbed take away bacon & egg rolls & coffees, while waiting I found at the back there is a toilet to use as the cafe next door Oh sugar sugar they gave me their keys to use the toilet which was nice 😊 of them, so overall is good food here but I wished they had of closed the windows & doors to make it more comfortable to eat in, & would of appreciated being allowed to use their toilet facilities & not the public park ones as their is one out the...
