I had the absolute pleasure along with my wife & a group of people from the Carseldine Probus Club last Thursday morning, the 19th of September 2024, to visit the Bribie Island Seaside Museum 🏝 🏝.
This contemporary museum, which is located 1 South Esplanade, Bongaree QLD 4507 in Apex Park, is in an ideal location overlooking the bay & Pumistone Passage.

Admission to this historical museum is free to everyone 😀
The Seaside Museum has interesting artefacts from Bribie Islands history, such as the growth of tourism & arrival of holiday makers via the popular steamboat ferry the "Koopa"!
We saw a detailed display about Bongaree, who was Matthew Flinders' travelling companion & the man who the town is named after.

We took in the sights of a variety of sea creatures preserved in specimen bottles.
We learnt & saw a detailed video of the local reclusive artist Ian Fairweather & learnt about his extraordinary raft trip from Darwin to Roti Island in Indonesia 🏝
