A friend and I came in on Wednesday to take advantage of their 2 for 1 schnitzel deal. At 7pm the building was nearly empty, only a few other tables were occupied and I don't think there was anyone in the bar. We were seated immediately.

The interior is dimly lit and the decor is reminiscent of The Golden Girls set, but not in a bad way. The lighting could be brought up a notch, as you can tell from my photos without flash, it's really quite dim. Additionally, the air conditioning may be an older unit as my friend and I switched seats so that I could get in a jet of cooler air and he could get out of it.

Like most other restaurants in this country, this place does not have table service. You have to go to one counter to order your food, then go to the bar to get any kind of beverage, including water. On this sleepy night, service was quite quick and even our food was brought out quickly.

Neither of our dinners were especially hot - hot enough to have been cooked, but not piping hot - and we could immediately start eating. I had the King Avocado with hollandaise schnitzel and my friend had the chicken parmesan.

The avocado with hollandaise was pretty good, if not a bit bland. I appreciated the bacon slice to provide a good balance of flavor, and there was a healthy portion of avocado smashed across the top. The fries were crispy and the little salad had a nice vinaigrette.

My friend said his chicken parmesan schnitzel was just ok. The red sauce he thought was likely from a can, but he felt like he needed to rush through eating to get it down before it got any colder.

Nearly immediately after we finished eating, our plates were bussed.

Normally I'd give just 3 stars as the overall experience was rather mediocre, but for speed of service and that they got a bit creative I felt with their menu and the pricing, bumping it up to 4.

Added bonus - this place shares a roof with a drive through liquor store so you can unwind at home after...

Fairly good hotel/pub. Has a good kid's room and climbing area connected to the restaurant. Sadly the cost of a meal has gone up and the quality gone down since the new renovations. Once you were able to get a fantastic steak, chips and salad lunch deal for about $15 each. A regular treat. Now no longer. Last salad purchased during lunch was just over $22, bland with minimal ingredients. A lot of good options have been cut from the menu. They do have some special offers on specific days. The Sports Bar does have a more limited slightly cheaper selection that you are only able to eat there. You aren't able to order from that menu and eat in the restaurant. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful. The best of them in my opinion are the staff working the adjoining bottle shop always friendly, smiling and ready to have a laugh.

Recently had a Christmas Eve /birthdaybuffet dinner at $50 a head. Not very impressed with the food at all. We were a table of 7 !

Seafood was below average. Calamari though good for the first bite went downhill from there. No chef that was NOT barramundi!! Processed seafood salad, I make a better garden salad at home!! Awesome triffle and pavlova. However I was rushed to finish by their time. Not the most enthusiastic service team lol The usual staff are friendly awesome and professional. Except for the whom I assume is new staff a young man of Asian descent. Mate you're hospitality customer service! Smile for gawds sake be nice,...

Last night we went to the tavern for a meal..have not had great experience before but thought we would try again...out of the 5 of us it was a disaster..first we lined up for 25mins to order and we started out 2nd in line...the girl on the register was not competent with the orders and held us up by running around to see if he till was right..then she left to put 6 orders through bar till as she had not yet placed them..another man came to serve us but taken away by a complaint..so another girl stepped in.order taken ..paid for in 2mins.... Back to the table and another customer complaint they had ordered kids meals after standing in line for 30mins only to be told after paying and sitting down that all the kids meals were gone....then to our surprise the girl comes to our table to tell us that no meat lovers pizzas left only hawian..ok we said..but that that didn't end there...next she came back to say no b.b.q.sauce....we felt for her as she had the awful task of telling us... A pub on a Sunday night when lots of people looking for a meal runs out of everything is not working...iga 2mins away ..could of got b.b.q.sauce....no kids meals....do up chips and nuggets.. Poor ordering from the staff...pre organising would of helped. We spent between the 5 of us a lot of money on food drinks and pokies. .ver...

Dropped in here yesterday to find a well situated, lovely pleasant and friendly atmosphere suited to singles, couples or families. Quite a large dining area that is casual and laid back. Great kids play areas available as well. All the usuals here eg sports bar, outdoor seating, gaming room. The meals are hotel quality and reasonably priced and the serving is quite plentiful. They also cater to the best of their ability for folk with dietary issues. They also cater for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. There is a ramp available into the dining area and the venue is situated on the one level. The one thing I felt was quite below standard was the pina colada I ordered. It tasted like weak pineapple juice and I could not finish it. Bathroom was dated but clean. Overall we were ok and were happy with this venue as a quick lunch stop.

We visited Beachmere Hotel and ordered two King Avocado Schnitzels. The schnitzels were cooked well and consistent, which was a nice touch. The salad, however, was a bit disappointing as it came with no dressing. On the positive side, the chips were perfectly cooked and a highlight of the meal. The staff were polite but seemed a bit flat, with very few smiles throughout our visit. Service was decent, but it could’ve been more engaging. The location of the hotel is great, and there’s plenty of parking available, which is a definite plus. Overall, a good experience with room for improvement in the service and salad presentation. Would still consider returning.

What a delightful night we had! Had dinner on the 31st of March and our experience was very pleasant from the moment we were greeted by Jade and shown to a nice table. As I was ordering our food I could see Chef Bradley already starting our meals, which were at our table in record time. Very high quality meals and I could have eaten 5 entrees ( Creamy Bacon Mussels) as it was such a perfect dish! Main meals and deserts were all high quality, very tasty and well presented. At the bar we had perfect service too, JT and Joshua offered very good customer service. Thank you all, we had a fantastic night. Extra kudos for Bradley for our meals!
