Spent a lot of money. Around $6,000 over half a day.
The gaming machines here are very bad. They are in a severely socio-economically disadvantaged area and the return on what you spend is absolutely disgusting.
I watched so many people likely on a pension or have a mediocre job at best doing $5 bets with absolutely no success and no return.
The only people winning from what I observed were the old people playing $0.50 to $1.50 bets and winning $10-$100. Likely coping with memory issues and forgetting they won and putting it back in anyway. Saw a guy was claiming tickets he didn’t own too.
It is clear what is being pumped in here is not being returned like it should be. I think this is a matter of better regulation and oversight being needed by the Federal government. I think they have really let the community down out this way. That’s why it’s so run down out here!
Pauline Hanson, please bring in better rules for poor areas when it comes to pokies. They are not good in these communities.
And the Keno says spend your last $1 and win. Great message.
Playing $5 bets and you can barely get a win. When I did get a game it gave me little money. Nothing what I spent.
Jackpots also very low. Nothing special.
Had the chicken parmigiana for dinner and the chicken burger for lunch. Both were pretty bad. Nothing special. I can’t even describe it as good pub food. Uncle had the seafood basket! Where was the basket. It was two baby prawns, 4 calamari rings and 3 fish bites. $24 for this?! Strewn across the plate like he was a Burpengary pig.
Staff are very slow at their job and no one seems happy and vibrant. Only one good looking guy at the bar and he needed to smile more.
Hygiene was not good. People handling money and then handling the food scraps from tables then grabbing plates and bringing them out. I didn’t see any hand washing at all and I watched carefully.
I give this place a 0 and don’t recommend it based on my experience.
As for your refurbishment, whenever that happened… maybe start again. Nothing special inside or out.
To summarise, I will not be back at this place ever.
I will be very honest about my experience as it really sucked.
Lastly, my uncle got a glass of wine for us…. No Pinot Grigio, no nice Chardonnay and tap wine. TAP WINE????? Might as well give me a cask from buffalo bill.
Goes to show the class of people going here. Even wearing hats at the table.
Needs a dress code. But I suppose that wouldn’t work out here. You’d probably get no patrons. Honestly, how disgusting being allowed to walk into a place with thongs, hats on, singlets and...

Read moreIt’s got a very plain looking facade and calling itself “The Burpo” in 2023 with Screen printed Merchandise to match. The Burpo appeared to have numerous entrances/ exitseading to the easy Parking that wraps around the building. There has been some renovations presumably over the past couple of years within the dining area. There is a specials board, seniors daily board and waiters presenting the usual menu on arrival. Ordering your desired meal is at the bar and by the table number. The line up can get long but the food comes very hot and quickly. The menu was varied from Steaks to Pizza, although very limited with specialty foods like ie: vegan. Slightly better quality food than the Typical pub. The food was most improved from the first visit starting over 24 months ago. This evening was the 4th visit recently a dinner sitting. Ordered this time the Parmy topped with Avocado and cheese. Meals came out piping hot, excellent. The garlic pizza bread is yum! A Pot of beer price was $10AU, Alcoholic Cocktails $14-$16. Small uninviting pokies area, certainly a mix of patron ages visiting this pub. Pleasantly the dining area has a variety of seating arrangements and comforts from bench seating for getting up close so you can hear as the dining area is quite noisy at times, to casual plastic dining chairs. Greatfully all seating was reasonably comfortable and suitable for most, even the sports bar high tables were great to eat from. The dining space appeared to be set out spacious enough to cater for wheelchairs or wheelie walkers easily but unsure about the pokies area which may require more maneuvering. I have not explored the entertainment at the beer garden. I will visit again to try the chefs talent with a steak! 4Food,4service,3Atmosphere. Sorry no...
