Burrito Bar Burpengary — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

Called to place a takeaway order and the girl who answered the phone didn't even mention the company name. I asked if I had called Burrito Bar and she huffed on phone and said "yeah, can you wait 10 minutes"? I responded with "excuse me"? & she says "I am serving a customer, just wait 10 minutes". To say I was shocked was an understatement. I stayed on phone waiting and I could overhear her conversation with the person who was obviously in front of her and I put the call on speaker so my husband could hear. He said if that's how she's talking to someone standing their in the store and the way she conducts herself over the phone is pretty atrocious and he doesn't want to support a place like that. We decided to hang up. I'm thinking they were too busy and short staffed however we don't know for sure but from what we experienced and heard, whether that is in fact the case or not, I would highly recommend that this place offer their staff training in how to provide better customer service. Maybe this female worker was overworked/ overwhelmed but it was the tone that sealed it for us. She just sounded like she didn't want to be there and really couldn't be bothered. If I had her front of house for my business I'd be looking at moving her into a different role as that is clearly not how I'd be wanting her to interact with my customers. Disappointing. Not sure if anyone else has experienced similar with them or not but whether it was just calling at the wrong time and off chance of having a bad day...still not ideal. Food portions were good and decently priced. Timely service. I thought the staff were nice. Good practice of social distancing. Reason for not being 5 stars were the bugs. Don't get me wrong, they're not infested XD... It was just because there is a garden outside and they have an open style place so crickets, or something, was seen jumping around on the floor inside. A staff member caught 2 and put them back in the garden.

A big plus was staff accommodating us with our request to share 2 desserts but split onto individual plates (so we weren't eating off the same plate sharing a dessert). Pictured on the dessert plate is half the large chocolate nachos and 1 of the dessert tacos. The drink was a house wine and a Pina Lada (mocktail). The fries were amazing. Pulled pork burrito was so-so but the salad in a taco...

Unfortunately the dining experience wasn’t very good.The server was polite however we had to ask for everything on the table and the service was slow. The chicken pieces were cooked well however the guacamole dip was not seasoned and it was a small portion.The corn chips were not seasoned and not cooked for long enough. We were there early for lunch so maybe they were just not quite ready to open up. I’m not sure we would eat there again.
