Absolute joke! As this venue is 16km return trip home for my Rescue Dog Smiley and myself, before going the first time I called ahead. I was told Free Pool Sunday's and my dog is more than welcome! So in 2024 I visited this venue several times, with my Pitbull X Bull Arab whom always has Lead, Harness & Muzzle for if required. Yesterday I walked all this way in the heat needing a break on the way for the dog, upon arrival this time they only gave me a child plastic cup for my dog who drank five of this instantly upon arrival so you understand how hot and bothered we where to get to the venue. I then proceeded to play pool for free alone and go out for a smoke now and then and give Smiley water. Then two other patrons challenged me to some games and we got talking having a nice afternoon when I was asked to leave. Smiley was accused of being aggressive whilst laying there being good, due to fact he barked at the young girl twice when I was asked to move smoking area earlier. This had happened almost an hour prior and nothing since. I stated Smiley could simply wear his muzzle if an issue ( which it was clearly not as nobody was even near him all day! ) When I politely argued these facts the rude obnoxious woman ( whom even smelt bad ) then stated "Your not spending any money" to which I replied "since when it is a requirement I must spend money to visit the venue?" I was asked to leave then by the Manager whom I actually giggled at and stated my thoughts on their reasoning joking my expensive lawyer would have a field day with such excuses. The pub meals are not great and rather small for their value and considering in the past few months since I've been playing pool at all the local venues in The Redlands again and the reception my dog not just myself has had elsewhere ( even special permission to be allowed at one venue who doesn't normally accept dogs with everyone saying what a good dog he is and he's welcome back! ) I feel staff where rude and obnoxious for absolutely no reason, and considering the patrons themselves where also on my side I think says it all. My mate used to actually be Chef here years ago and it's never been the same since, so in my opinion they can stick the 16km walk where it fits as no skin off my nose not to return to such a venue whom treats people in this manner for clearly no reason what so ever. Enjoy that Karma ladies trust me it's...
Read moreTo say that my 6 friends and I were "disappointed" with our dining/customer service experience tonight is unfortunately the understatement of the year. After ordering our meals (+ entrees) at just after 6pm, we waited until 7:30pm for our ENTREES to arrive. I went up to ask the manager when the main course meals would be ready to be told "soon". When I politely asked for a refund I was refused, but instead offered a free drink, to which I graciously declined.
After a further half an hour (already 1 hour and 30 minute wait by this point) our table were fed up and collectively asked for a refund, and all 7 of us got up to leave. We were AGAIN denied a refund, and instead offered hotel vouchers. We were then told by the manager that "the meals were just being plated up" so we agreed to the vouchers and all went back to our seats for our meals. A further half an hour passed (almost 2 HOURS WAIT TIME by this point - 8pm) no meals in sight.
Eventually after 2 HOURS after first ordering our mains, SOME of our meals came out (however 2 steak meals were nowhere to be found). Out of 4 of us who ordered schnitzels, 2 were RAW and pink on the inside. As 2 of those 4 people who ordered the schnitzel were pregnant (myself included!) you can understand our absolute disgust. We found it almost amusing when the manager asked us if we would like 2 new schnitzels (another lengthy wait? No thank you).
We AGAIN got up to leave and demanded our money back. Out of the 7 people who ordered main meals, 1 PERSON was lucky enough to have been able to eat their dinner in entirety, and the manager begrudgingly refunded us (although we did not receive a refund for the several entrees ordered).
As a pregnant woman who had been at work all day and not eaten since 12pm, you can understand my absolute distaste with the fact that I have now gone to bed without a decent meal in my stomach.
The worst part about it is none of the above, but actually the manager's attitude towards us. We never once received an apology, although we did receive a lot of eye rolling, shrugging, sighing and sarcastic comments such as "yeah, I know" and, "well I did say sorry, it's not my fault if you didn't hear it".
Probably the worst dining experience I...
Read moreWent into the gaming section via back door and saw a bigger dark haired guy in a black and white flower button down possibly on his phone, nonetheless completely ignoring I exist. I then headed to the atm and heading back into the gaming room and he suddenly is walking fast passed at me asking for my id once again no hello. Just “show me some id”. This is standard I understand but it felt like he was an inch from running with how quick he charged at me. Then once I was leaving the blonde slick back haired thinner guy ignored my presence, as I tried to exist the back door ( I didn’t know that gets shut by a certain time). I ask “can you open this please” he delays and still doesn’t acknowledge me till the customer he’s talking to gestures I’m speaking. And tells me to take the other door at the front.
Customer service in the gaming room is in line with most of the main priorities when working in there. But ignoring my existence twice is so disappointing. Not only that but the leaning most of his body over the counter to chat as well just turns me off ever coming back. Sure losing one customer is nothing but it’s just uncomfortable and disgraceful as I was there for under 10 minutes because I was so...
