Grubbies Burgers & Hawaiian BBQ — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

We got two mixed platters and devoured them so quickly once we got home. The whole platter came with a couple of thinly sliced ribs, 3 thick chicken katsu strips, 2-3 big chunks of grilled BBQ chicken pieces, 2 rice balls, pasta salad and coleslaw. I didn’t particularly like the ribs. To me, they were just a bit awkward to eat and not very flavorful. The chicken on the other hand was next level. I loved grilled chicken slightly more than the deep fried chicken, but really, they were equally tasty. Both chickens were quite tender and flavorful. I personally didn’t like the rice balls that much, to me, the rice was too soft. The pasta though was very nice, prob my third favorite out of everything in the container. Don’t know how I felt about the coleslaw. Not a big fan of coleslaw in general. Next time I’ll prob go without the ribs and prob try their burgers and loaded fries. They were packed when we got there and that was close to 7pm on a Saturday. Not a lot of people dining in, and mostly takeaways. So be prepared to wait for 20 mins at least if you happen to go in that time period. But I would say the wait was def worth it.

Didn’t really vibe with the atmosphere, a bit greasy looking and the music was playing too loud. Could barely hear the staff member when placing our orders. But I suppose that comes with the territory. It is in a sense a fast food restaurant. I would recommend to have your food as takeaway instead of dining in. You probably would enjoy...

Today I won the giveaway competition and received a free Special which for today was the - Garlic Fried Scallops Cream Paua Loaded Fries. I bought our usual to go with it which is the rib platter and Hawaiian chicken platter.

I love my seafood but i am not a scallop or paua fan. My husband hates seafood altogether but he was willing to try it too with our usual orders we buy.

LET ME TELL YOU 👏👏🤌 I absolutely loved the special today. Eating this has changed my view on both scallops and paua. My husband ate most of mine because it smelled so good he had to have a bite - that bite then lead to my food being three quaters finished by him haha.

I have been a dedicated grubbies fan since the beginning. The quality of the food is next level. The flavour that hits my mouth once ive taken a bite is out of this world. The meat melts in my mouth and that famous mac just puts me into a food coma everytime and thats what i love.

We got the Luau burger which in my opinion was DA BOMB. MY GOODNESS I felt like a gateway to heaven opened when I took a bite out of it 🤣 We also got the Big western burger with extra luau on it and lord save our soul, it was so good. Although personally I prefer the chicken because it's so tender, the beef patties are good but it's a little too thin for my liking. We also got the Junior burger which I accidentally bit on and oh ho mate, best junior burger I ever had 🤣 The service was impeccable! It was full house with heaps of takeaway people standing outside but the waitresses never took down their smiles and vibing attitude. I am absolutely in love with this place and apparently 10 years late to the game.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRYING IT! Well I'm ready to go back and try their rib and rice. Pray for my figure cos I have a feeling it's gonna...
