Pattysmiths Strathpine — Restaurant in Greater Brisbane

Since my originally updated review below, I have continued to order from Pattysmiths. Unfortunately, the experience has degraded further and further over time.

From observation, they seem to be regularly understaffed and unable to deal with multiple orders in any kind of efficient manner.

Recently I ordered ahead in an effort to avoid the in-house wait, as I had somewhere to be. I arrived at the estimated pickup time and waited. And waited. And waited... twenty minutes after I asked for an update and eta on my order, as I was now running late. The flustered seeming staff member responded with "oh, it's right here." I asked when it was made, because I had been waiting for twenty minutes and it had not been called or put up on the bench for collection, to which he responded with an unsure "Um, recently...?" I asked him at least if the food was still hot and he assured me it was.

Unfortunately, the food was barely warm.

They also seem ill equipped to balance their ghost kitchen businesses. I have made multiple orders via their app from Alabama Wings, hosted in the same kitchen. The last three times upon opening them, they were all unseasoned, despite specifying the seasonings in the order. One time the chicken was undercooked, and resulted in mild food poisoning (most of the meal was disposed of once this was noticed).

I've definitely decided to stop ordering from their ghost kitchen arrangements - the experiences there have only ranged from "okay" to "food poisoning terrible".

As for Pattysmiths, I their service has never been great, but at least a year ago the food was decent enough to make it worth a revisit. But over time, unfortunately, the quality of the food there has also slipped to not being worth the hassle either. Food is regularly warm at best and the burgers have become sloppy and poorly constructed.

I want to like Pattysmiths, I really do. But it feels like fighting an uphill battle to do so, and I think I'm past the point of wanting to keep trying.

I initially had a poor experience here, waiting over half an hour for a single burger and chips, and the order was still wrong when handed over.

They convinced me to give them another chance, and I'm glad I did because they typically make quite a tasty burger and I've eaten from here many times since.

Went in yesterday after picking up a serviced sewing machine across at Stumers, it was opening time and one young guy was working. He seemed to be busy at first to notice us. Once he acknowledged my wife and I, I asked him if they have GF buns as my wife is Coeliac. He stated the buns where frozen, and that it would be an long wait for that, and also remarked that " he was too busy" to do that at the moment! Even though we where the only 2 people there??? My wife said she would get something later from the GF bakery in Lawnton. I decided to order and asked for the SWISS, only to be abruptly told that " they don't do that burger" and the young guy pointed it out on the small menu in front of me, even though it didn't state this on their huge menu board overhead, which he clearly could see i was reading from???. I changed it to the "Original" their Signature burger. I asked about a meal deal. He stated you get 250 grams of chips with the meal deal. I then watched as he went to a draw with chips in it and scoop them out and proceeded to weigh them prior to cooking to the exact weight????? I them asked about the Fried Chicken they do, and he advised they didnt have any chicken at the moment??? Even though 1/3 of their overhead menu advertised " Supreme Leader Chicken"??? He said" it would take alot of time to arrange, and that he had so much to do today" In other words "its frozen and i cant be asked to thaw and deep fry some for you, even though the place looked immaculately clean and presentable (Thats why I'm giving 2 stars) Presentation was good, burger was niether here nor their with taste or flavour, chips where ok. To be honest I have had a better burger and chips from the local fish shop! All in all, a completely disappointing overall experience. Once bitten, twice shy I will not be returning...

I do not understand why the reviews aren't higher!

If you are wanting a good fresh meal that is worth the time and money, then Ankit is the guy you need to see. He was super approachable, smiling, inviting, and hands down one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had.

We ordered 2 different types of burgers, with fresh chips, and some frickles. (Fried Pickles) Let me tell you something people. The burger tasted like a burger with no burnt bits and was delicious and mouth watering. The chips were golden crispy while remaining fluffy inside, with little to no oil soaking the chips. I have been watching how many chips I have and usually cut myself off after a few tastes, but I couldn't stop eating these chips!

We told Ankit how spectacular everything was, surprised that we hadn't been sooner given the superior quality. He told us that they change the oil more frequently than recommended and use a higher quality oil to achieve such clean tasting chips. Well it works! This is our go to shop for chips from now on just because of the care.

We were gifted, you heard right, GIFTED, some churros, mainly cuz I was harassing the missus. My better half no longer wants San Churro and I don't blame her. Same as the chips, crunchy outside, fluffy inside, but with just the right amount of sweetness instead of doused with nothing but straight sugar. The chocolate sauce could have been a bit better, but I suspect that is because of what PattySmiths ships and not on Ankit.
